The body of working I've been creating called Dirty Fruit: Sexy Pictures of Nature's Candy is taking on more dimensions all the time!

The day I was inspired to start making mango figurines, I was at @nascent_cherub house on a photography job and found the perfect specimen to start with. Her dad's grandmother had a tree in her yard. He ate a piece of the fruit and planted the seed. That tree bore fruit for the first time this year!

They gave me a mango from that tree, the original for this nascent iteration of Dirty Fruit. I could not be more pleased! I feel like I am honoring ancestry and heritage. Immortalized legacy. It's really fucking cool.

AND, the result offers not only an aesthetic experience but a beautiful tactile one as well!

"Use it as a magic wand," is what my next In Pursuit of Signal guest Aislinn Marron said to me. It was so deep, became the title of the episode!

As episodes 12 and 13 come online, I would like to introduce a key facet of what I intended the show to offer. I have had the privilege of hosting fantastic guests so far, and I noticed that conversations often reveal specific challenges people face it their relationships with tech. In response, I will be creating episodes that seek to address those challenges by offering potential solutions.

These episodes are not meant to tell people what to do but more to ask important questions that better illuminate our path and allow us to choose more intentionally.

I encourage you to join the conversation. The podcast's home base is on Substack https://inpursuitofsignal.substack.com/podcast. You can also find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and other podcast streaming platforms. Subscribe today!

A Refreshing Perspective: A Conversation with Photographer/Videographer Joyce Caba
For Episode 11 of In Pursuit of Signal, I sat down with my good friend and colleague Joyce Caba to get her take on how technology is affecting our lives today, and I have to say, she offered up a perspective that was so surprising and refreshing.
In Pursuit of Signal’s main theme, the social impacts of technology on our every day lives, is a virtually endless well of topics. I work to approach it from from as many angles as possible, but what tend to happen is that conversations often mainly focus on the problems we are facing due to our growing dependence on our technology especially since the advent of things like smartphones and social media apps. It can and often does skew dark. That is never the intention.
What’s amazing about this chat with Joyce is that her POV feels like a truly balanced one. She tells us about how she tries to see things from as many sides as she can. Her perspective is very much an and perspective as opposed to the much more common either/or way many of us view the world and life.
Joyce’s take is non-judgmental exactly because she considers both sides of the coin. Even when projecting into her own possible future of how she might consider allowing her kids (who have not been born yet) to interact with technology, it occurred to her to consider the opinions of her future husband in determining what those parameters might look like. FASCINATING!
We covered a lot of ground, and I’m so proud to know Joyce and to have her as part of my circle. I really hope you enjoy the epsiode.

Not every listing needs luxury photography. But knowing when it does can completely change how a property shows up online.

Jose Angel with @angelvisionmediallc breaks down when it makes sense to invest in luxury real estate photography and why the right visuals matter when you’re marketing a higher end property.

Because buyers are often seeing the home online before they ever step through the door. The photography has to communicate the details, space and experience that make the property worth noticing.

For real estate agents, especially in a competitive South Florida market, knowing when to elevate your listing photography is part of knowing how to market the property.

What makes a listing “luxury photography worthy” to you?
