Sometimes it’s easy to take a dog for granted. Steady, loving, always available for a quick pet, a drive-by kiss, even just a glance from across the room to let you know they are there. Then they suddenly leave this earth and you’re left with whispers of these moments that went almost unnoticed for years. And you miss them so much.

Our Benny passed away unexpectedly last week. He was with us, on our family vacation, spending his last days laying in the grass, and going on walks, hanging out with his family. We had no idea he was sick, and we are devastated.

We know Benny was so loved by everyone for his quirky habits, silly personality, his bad-boy antics, but mostly because he was a lover. Benny was one of a kind, and truly made our family complete. He had a big presence and an even bigger personality, and now we have a big hole in our hearts that will take a long time to heal.

This week was devastating. We had to unexpectedly say goodbye to our sweet Bailey girl. Those of you who know us well know how much of a hard hit this is to our family and how large of a void in our hearts she will leave. Eliot got Bailey when he was in college and he and I have never been together without her. We were lucky enough to spend 13 wonderful years with her. She has been with us through every single move, milestone, the ups, downs, new puppies, new babies, weddings, and everything in between. We love Bailey so much, and our family will never be the same without her. Thank you for everything Bailey. We miss you. We love you. You truly are the best girl. This year’s Valentine’s Day feels a little different to me. We are about to be parents in a few short weeks, and life will change in every way possible for @eliotcoven and I. Knowing this, I can’t help but to think back to our honeymoon in Italy last year, when things were a little more simple and carefree. I feel so fortunate to be able to start building a family with a man I love so much and have so much fun with when it’s just us, traveling around the world or even just hanging out at home. I know we will continue to bring that love and fun into our (and soon, Miles’) lives, no matter the twists and turns life brings us. Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary to the best husband in the world. @eliotcoven you make me laugh every day of our lives, respect me, and love me like nobody ever has. I love you forever. ♥️

Today we celebrated together (with our pups of course) and hiked, had homemade farm stand pot pie, had cocktails made with sake, ate at an empty hibachi restaurant in the middle of nowhere (lol) and just enjoyed each other. What more could anyone ask for? 🥢🥰 taken in Pocono Mountains by @angovie
