TERZA NATURA, @zaldivartania’s solo exhibition, treats the garden as a place where code and hand agree to work together.

Carved wood, digital works developed from hand-painted compositions, hand-cut tape, jacquard textile: each piece runs on a different system —Bézier curves, parametric waves, generative algorithms— pushed until it starts to behave like something grown rather than built.

A garden, reduced to its essential elements: wood, leaves, rhythm, repetition.

In this view of TERZA NATURA, the sculptural forms of NOOLII meet VERONA, VIRIDIÁN, and SCHEELE, three photographic works that appear to capture fragments of vegetation but are, in fact, details drawn from @zaldivartania ’s own BESTIARIO series.

Together, the works create an abstract landscape—one built not from living plants, but from their echoes, translations, and transformations across different materials. A garden made of wood and images.

A system of forms, shaped by variation.

The NOOLII series comprises a collection of wall sculptures by @zaldivartania

Built from a modular language of parametrically generated forms, translated here into solid mahogany. Each element is individually hand shaped, allowing the natural grain, tone, and character of the wood to become part of the composition.

The modules can expand, contract, shift, and recombine, creating a structure that is both precise and inherently variable.

Rather than following a single process, the exhibition TERZA NATURA unfolds as a series of transformations.

A form begins as a drawing, becomes a pattern, shifts into textile, expands into three dimensions, or is reduced to a fragment. Across different scales and materials, @zaldivartania continuously reworks the same visual language, allowing each new iteration to reveal something different.

VERONA · VIRIDIÁN · SCHEELE

At first glance, these images might appear to be close-up photographs of leaves, plants, or organic matter. They are not.

These digital artworks emerge from the same visual language explored in @zaldivartania BESTIARIO series. Close-up views of its forms are transformed into photographic compositions, shifting the scale until the familiar becomes abstract.

What appears to be a fragment of nature is, in fact, a fragment of an artwork—another iteration of Tania Alvarez Zaldivar ’s ongoing exploration of how forms can move between materials, and perceptions.

@zaldivartania brings together hand-drawn gestures, digital processes, and material experimentation to explore the space between the organic and the constructed.

Here, JARDINES BÉZIER, translated from hand-drawn compositions into jacquard textiles, share the space with BESTIARIO, a series that expands Zaldivar’s exploration of painting and digital transformation.

Together, these works reveal a practice in which the boundaries between the handmade and the digital begin to dissolve.

NOOLII by @zaldivartania builds one continuous surface out of repetition.  Each module comes from the same geometry, but shifts in proportion, depth, and rhythm as it repeats—carved and assembled entirely by hand in @itz_furniture’s workshop in Bacalar.  In this tropical version, pucté, jabim, tzalam, ziricote, and katalox woods meet in a single panel, each fragment keeping its own grain and tone while becoming part of a whole that transforms with light and movement.  NOOLII TROPICAL

Built piece by piece, JARDINES BÉZIER begins with a simple gesture: cutting.

@zaldivartania works entirely by hand, cutting small sections of masking tape and arranging them one by one to construct a larger pattern. Using alcohol markers, each fragment becomes part of a composition guided by Bézier curves—the same mathematical tools used in typeface design.

As the individual pieces accumulate, a precise system begins to take on the density and unpredictability of organic growth. What appears at first as a digitally generated pattern reveals, upon closer inspection, a slow and meticulous process of cutting, placing, and composing by hand.

SOLEN by @zaldivartania builds volume through light.

Based on a system of parametric waves, each tile is handcrafted in solid mahogany by @itz_furniture and fitted with a curved mirrored surface.

This wall sculpture creates a sense of depth and movement, a surface that feels unexpectedly alive.
