When it comes to health and safety on site, liquid anhydrite screed is a genuinely more empowering way to work compared with traditional sand-cement screed. In addition to the pump doing the heavy lifting and the screed doing its self-levelling, so installers don’t have to crawl on their hands and kneed to spread it, here are 5 more reasons why it beats traditional screed in terms of health and safety: 1.	Less manual handling 2.	Increased productivity (over 2 sq.m. per day/person) 3. Clean, sustainable, BBA-approved product 4. Thinner, stronger mix means less to spread 5. Less cracking means fewer trips to rework the job Why do you like to work with liquid anhydrite screed? Post your thoughts below. by @anhydritec_uk

If you're a screed installer weighing up cement-based vs anhydrite screeds, it's worth factoring in the hidden costs of your choice. The wear and tear on your equipment adds up to the labour around every pour. A broken worm and stator mean hours off the job, adding up as real costs over time.

The abrasive consistency of cement-based screed is significantly more damaging to the life of the worm and stator of screed pumps than anhydrite. As a result, worms and stators wear out roughly 10 times faster when pumping cement-based screed compared with anhydrite.

What this means for you:
🔧 A replacement cost of around £800 per worm and stator
⏱️ Pump downtime while the parts are swapped out
📉 Lost pumping days that can push back programme
💰 A recurring cost that stacks up fast across a busy pump's workload

Anhydrite screed is far less abrasive on your pump’s components, meaning fewer replacements, less downtime, and a pump that stays productive for longer. Choose for the long game - choose #anhydrite screed! by @anhydritec_uk

Based on Anhydritec's study, Thermio Max FD E2C can deliver energy savings of up to 20% on heating bills. For the average UK household, that could mean savings of roughly £200–£370 a year, depending on home size, fuel source, and usage.
Here's something worth asking on every UFH project: is the screed helping the system run efficiently, or working against it?
Every underfloor heating system is only as good as its ability to transfer heat efficiently to the surface. A screed that's too thick, too slow to respond, or poorly suited to UFH means the system has to work harder and cost more to deliver the same comfort. Thermio Max FD E2C is engineered to close that gap. With 80% higher thermal diffusivity than a standard cement screed, a guaranteed thermal conductivity of 2.5 W/m.K, and only 15mm of coverage above the pipe, heat reaches the floor surface faster and with far less energy loss. For homeowners and building occupants, the result is energy savings of up to 20% on heating bills without any change in comfort. For developers and specifiers, it's a genuine differentiator: a home that's cheaper to heat is easier to sell, easier to let, and better positioned for tightening energy performance regulations. See for yourself how in this short reel.

What if a few millimetres could transform an entire project? 📐
Whether in new construction or renovation, minimal thickness is not merely a technical constraint; it represents a genuine opportunity. Thanks to their excellent dimensional stability, Anhydritec's liquid screeds can be installed at very low thicknesses while maintaining their mechanical performance.
This allows for optimised floor build-up heights, preserves ceiling height and limit the loads applied to the existing structure. But the benefits go even further.
Reducing the screed thickness frees up more space for thermal and acoustic insulation whilst optimising the building's overall design. It also helps limit the volume of materials used, contributing to more resource-efficient construction.

A good screed is not only judged by its appearance. It is also measured by its flatness 📐
A perfectly flat surface:
✅ Facilitates the installation of floor coverings
✅ Minimises the need for remedial works on site
✅ Contributes to the final quality of the floor, whether it is tiles, hardwood or vinyl.

This is why, after pouring, the dappling step is essential. It mixes and spreads the screed evenly, eliminates air bubbles and helps to achieve an optimal finish.
A motion that lasts only a few minutes, but whose benefits are experienced throughout the life of the building.

You may have noticed that we are now ANHYDRITEC UK. The #Gyvlon brand still applies, as our range will always be known as #gyvlonscreed. However, as we are the UK arm of the @anhydritec business unit, part of the MINERSA Group of companies, we are moving towards a unified brand presence. Going forward, you will be seeing us communicate as ANHIDRITEC UK a lot more than as Gyvlon. #liquidscreed #anhydrite taken in Warrington, England by @anhydritec_uk
