In May, Oud House will transform into an immersive exhibition by spatial designers and Rotterdam-West residents Ani Dosheva and Joy Zhang. Opening weekend 16-17-18 May will be part of Go West Delfshaven.

‘Harvesting land’, an immersive experience, combining photography and installation, discusses food production not only as a functional process, but an intersection between available resources and human imagination. The main character is rice – the predominantly consumed food by over half of the world population.

Through an interplay of tactile elements and dear memories, the project fosters relationships that extend beyond place or origin, that create awareness about the intricate cycles of growth, harvest and taste through both material non-material metaphors.

In the days of exchanging gifts, packaging, among other things, becomes a shared ritual. An act of desire, provoking anticipation and celebrating tradition. The wrapping, although a temporary envelope of the item in essence, is also a layer of active memory for the one unfolding it. Whether it is done slow or slower, quick or quicker, the eagerness of undressing the unknown eventually comes, in our own rythm of pleasure.

Artisianal bonbons are always a delight to undress. My mum started making chocolate five years ago, so I have practices the craft of eating (a lot of) it for some time now. She dived into it just a couple of months after a call we had, where I ended up nerding about the basics of slip and sand casting, which i have just tested out for the first time. I am not sure if she was thrilled to listen about metal and porcelain, shell thickness and bubbles, but fortunately, my rant shifted towards chocolate casting and shaping the famous Santa chocolate figure - this is when her ears got sharper. The rest is history.

2025 has been a beautiful, mainly analog year for me, so the chocolate anniversary came in the right time to bring me some digital intox. The bonbon packaging is designed to elevate the essence of the bonbon through a kinetic ritual of undressing. By treating each layer as a moment of transition, the diverse materiality transforms the simple act of opening a bonbon into a sculptural, multi-sensory ritual, celebrating my mum's care, joy and dedication towards the chocolate-making craft.

This packaging is for a milk chocolate bonbon, one of the 4 main chocolate types.

Linear Encounters traces the contribution of Bulgarian architects, engineers, and design teams to the shaping of Abu Dhabi’s modern architectural identity in the 1970s–80s — a period of rapid growth and bold experimentation.

The exhibition design, reimagines the narrow gallery through a series of linear, rhythmic, and textured spatial interventions, echoing the architectural logic of the buildings presented in the research. A single guiding line starts at the building entrance and gradually becomes the core axis around which the entire narrative unfolds.

Scaffolding and fabric elements reference the wall-to-ceiling structure of the Abu Dhabi Main Bus Terminal, bringing its spatial rhythm into the gallery through lightness, repetition, and transparency.

Hosted at the Center for Contemporary Art “Christo and Jeanne-Claude” in Gabrovo — a former textile school now in transformation — the exhibition reflects on renewal, reuse, and the reinterpretation of modernity.
It opens conversations about material care, urban memory, and the shared role of architects, urbanists, and local communities in shaping cultural spaces.
