long time no post — i have been busy doing art history things at UT Dallas! among those things: i’m happy to announce that i have been chosen to present at the upcoming 2025 SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium, where i will be discussing the Bengal Famine of 1943 and exploring the work of Zainul Abedin, then an art teacher who documented the sights unfolding before his eyes through visceral sketches.

the symposium will take place from April 3rd to April 7th and is free for the public to attend via Zoom. i will be presenting on April 5th at 5PM EST. for more information, you can visit the symposium’s website and register to attend sessions here: https://hawksites.newpaltz.edu/2025arthistorystudentsymposium/

i am so grateful for this opportunity — thank you to dr. keely heuer for organizing the event! i hope to see you there (virtually) 🙂 by @anikarts
