I had a blast at my first NY Comic Con. So much fun to meet Twisted Tale readers and meet other amazing Disney authors Liz Braswell, Jen Calonita, Anna Bright, Delilah S. Dawson, and Megan Shepherd. We rocked at Disney Fandom Fued -- to all our delight/surprise 😍

And if you couldn't be there, check out Waiting on a Miracle, the newest Twisted Tale ❤️

I had so much fun reimagining an adventure for the Madrigal sisters. The movie’s gorgeous visuals reminded me of a trip to Colombia when I visited a coffee farm, so of course the sisters might end up at one… 🇨🇴☕️
Let me know if you have any questions about my writing process!

And if you haven’t read it yet, I can’t wait for you to find out what else the Madrigal family get up to when they leave the Encanto 🐆 by @anikawriter

Middle grade stories that carry heritage, history, and real courage.

Middle grade Hispanic Heritage Month features that honor culture, resilience, and the voices shaping today’s young readers. These books move through real journeys, deep folklore, and defining moments in history. Jay reads for substance, and this stack delivers: characters facing hard truths, worlds rooted in tradition, and narratives that remind us why heritage matters and why middle grade lit has no age limit in our home.

Thank you to @simonkids for helping us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the history tied to Jay’s last name, and for sending these powerful stories our way! 🙌🏼🇲🇽

"I had known my brother for less than six months when a photograph on my computer one warm sunny day in September showed black, billowy smoke emgulfing tall buildings. ...And for the first time since returning from Colombia, I had a sense of danger everywhere."

From: Magical Realism for Non-Believers: A Memoir of Finding Family

For anyone who wasn't alive yet or is too young to remember, know that no matter how far away you were from the attacks on 9/11, they were life-changing. Now I think back and that time is a reminder that your path can alter forever at any moment. by @anikawriter
