ÁNIMA, is the archetype of life ✨️

Ánima. - From Latin anima, “breath”, "soul”, “vital principle”, “life force”. A plant-based Mexican culinary experience, inspired by bold flavors from Mexican cenadurías and traditional antojitos. A story narrated by mexicanos norteños, from the border. From the universe of Baja California. Food that nurtures your spirit. Our kitchen dances with the season. It’s an alchemical living space, where Earth’s ingredients are transmuted into soulful delicacies.

For you.

From us, with LOVE.

That’s what’s up.

We are Ánima, Cocina Viva.

We do this out of pure inspiration..
Working extra hours.
The lack of sleep.
But the reward is to see so many happy faces; to make new friends. To get all those beautiful comments and loving vibes from the people; people like us, who's trying to figure it out in this world while putting in their 2 cents to make it a better place for us all.
We do this out of pure inspiration..
Even when we realize we will only sleep 3 hours, or when the stove wouldn't turn on right before the event, there is a fire inside of our hearts telling us 'you got this ... everything will be just fine'.
We do this out of pure inspiration..
And we will do it over and over again.
Because our cause is to spark joy and awareness, and Mexican Vegan Antojitos are the perfect tool to do that.

After all, we've never seen anyone worried while eating tacos, or getting upset after a hearty bowl of pozole..

Come to the dark side, eat more tacos, and be happy 🖤🇲🇽

The word TINGA traces back to Náhuatl, the language of the Aztecs in central México 🏔🇲🇽

"Tingtl" means "messy", a flavorful "disorder" 💥🤯

This traditional guisado, original to the state of Puebla, México, owes its distinctive bold, savory and deep smoky flavor to a blend of tangy roasted tomatoes, onions and Chipotle peppers 🔥😗

We'll be serving delicious Tinga Tacos and Lavender Limonada this Friday 10.03, starting at 6pm, at the parking lot next to @esp.hifi on Santa Fe Dr 🕺✨️

Join us at the First Friday Night Art Walk!

Amidst one of the worst humanitarian crises we've seen since we were born on this planet 🌌

In times when fools @realdonaldtrump @b.netanyahu get to be kings 💀🥀

We want to thank the Universe and all of our ancestors for the opportunity to live in a reality where we can still create and use our voice to speak for those who are not as privileged as we are 🙏✨️

Whatever they do to the weakest of us, they do to us ALL 🌎

It's time to take the world in our hands! ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

…

This is the last pop-up of the season at the First Friday Night Fest hosted by @esp.hifi 🛸

Come join us for some music, vibes and plant-based tacos with hand-pressed tortillas 💿🕺

We're bringing Tinga tacos this time, and Lavender Limonada 🌸

Thank you all beautiful creatures for your love and support 🖤🖤

Can we change the world with our food?

Maybe we can… one taco at a time 😗

Let's find out… ✊🏾🌎🛸

As the summer fades out, the vibes change... we fade away from our ceviche recipes and step into a new realm of culinary exquisiteness ✨️

TACOS! 🔥

Birria tacos are one of our favorite staples, and the reason why people would drive accross counties to visit our pop-up in Barrio Logan when we were back in San Diego

Hand-pressed heirloom corn tortillas, made right in front of you ... tender jackfruit birria and (OMG YES!!) the perfect pairing: HORCHATA! 🎉

Everything plant-based, and cooked to perfection on a looooooong dedication process

If you had any other plans for next Friday, this is your sign to cancel everything and go to the First Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe Dr, swing by @esp.hifi and treat yourself the best tacos around

I mean, how often can you even get them?! 🔥

So, seat back, relax... enjoy the ride, and get yourself some tacos

YOU deserve it!

Eating a good taco, is like a meditation

That moment, the first bite, when you and your taco become one .. has the power to bring you right back to the present moment

No future, no past 🌀

Just YOU, enjoying the perfect combination of a hand-pressed heirloom corn tortilla, holding the most delicious plant-based birria stew you've ever experienced, made of tender young jackfruit, hours marinated in our signature dried pepper blend … topped with very finely diced red onion, cilantro leaves, fresh radish slices and avocado-tomatillo salsa cruda verde 🥑

Available next Friday 09.05 at @esp.hifi parking lot, during Santa Fe's First Friday Art Walk

Starting at 6pm

Love you all! 🫰
