POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Veteran Denver rockers Jim McTurnan and Colby Rogers’ bodies betrayed them in very different but equally dramatic ways, robbing them of the ability to play music, stealing a fundamental part of their identities and very nearly costing them their lives. Until a collector of broken toys came along and put them all together in a band called Animals in Exile, which has its first headlining gig this coming Saturday at the Skylark Lounge. Their harrowing stories of survival and reclamation speak to the power of music as therapy. It’s my special Sunday column for the @denvergazette. I hope you’ll give it a read, and maybe share if you know someone who needs it. Link in bio.

A psych-infused rock nite of indie-garage fuzz, psychedelia, and hypnotic grooves at the legendary @skylarkdenver / @bobcat_club

@electricideband showed Animals In Exile some love while on tour in Salt Lake City. Now it’s time to return the favor. Add @zealotco to the mix, and a long-awaited lineup finally comes together in Denver.
