Eric Carle, children’s book author and illustrator, died last week at age 91. His book,The Very Hungry Caterpillar, was translated into 66 languages and sold more than 50 million copies. He wrote more than 70 books and sold more than 145 million copies of them. I used his books endlessly in my classroom. The children loved them! Thank you Eric Carle. by @anita_lyons

It’s a bonus when your amaryllis gets a third stem after the first two died off. Then you notice a fifth blossom peeking out and life’s a little sweeter. by @anita_lyons

Thankful for the example of inner strength and courage that our mother gave us. Leaving the home our dad built and going to the to the assisted living center was very tender for her. Yet she faced each day with dignity. #give thanks by @anita_lyons

Mom would have been 90 today. She lives on in her roses. This rose bush taken from the yard in Burley has taken over my corner. by @anita_lyons
