Pregnant women should eat choline because it's crucial for the healthy development of the baby, especially the brain and nervous system. Here’s why it matters:

🧠 Brain Development
Choline is vital for fetal brain development. It helps build cell membranes and supports the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter important for memory and mood.

🔄 Neural Tube Closure
Just like folate, choline helps prevent neural tube defects (like spina bifida) during early pregnancy by supporting proper cell division and DNA synthesis.

👶 Long-Term Cognitive Benefits
Some studies suggest that babies born to mothers with higher choline intake during pregnancy may have better cognitive function and memory later in life.

⚖️ Placental Function
Choline helps the placenta function properly, ensuring nutrients are delivered efficiently to the baby.

🛡 Reduces Risk of Complications
It may also help reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia, a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure.

How Much Choline Do Pregnant Women Need?
- Recommended: 450 mg/day
- Many prenatal vitamins don’t include enough choline, so dietary sources are important.

Good Food Sources:
- Eggs (especially the yolk!)
- Beef and chicken liver
- Salmon
- Milk
- Soybeans
- Brussels sprouts and broccoli (less, but helpful)

🥬 Why Do Vegans Avoid Gelatin?
Ever wondered why gelatin isn’t considered vegan? 👀
Gelatin is made from collagen found in animal skin, bones, and connective tissues, commonly sourced from pigs and cattle.
Because gelatin is animal-derived, vegans avoid it for dietary and ethical reasons.
📌 Commonly found in:
🍬 Gummy candies
🍡 Marshmallows
💊 Some capsules
🍮 Certain desserts
🌱 Vegan alternatives: Agar-agar, pectin, and other plant-based gelling agents.
💡 Read the label before you buy!
👉 Save this post for your next grocery trip.
📲 Share it with a friend who follows a vegan diet.

I used to think microwave safe meant harmless. In reality, it often just means the plastic will not melt or warp under heat. That label does not guarantee chemicals inside the plastic will stay put when temperatures rise.

Plastics contain compounds like BPA, phthalates, and other plasticizers. These chemicals are not always permanently locked in place. Heat can loosen them, allowing small amounts to migrate into food, especially when microwaving.

What makes this concerning is how normal it feels. Reheating leftovers, warming meals, using convenience containers daily. Over time, repeated exposure adds up, even if each individual use seems insignificant or below visible danger thresholds.

The safer choice is simple awareness. Glass and ceramic do not leach chemicals when heated. Microwave safe is not the same as body safe. Understanding the difference helps reduce unnecessary exposure and supports long term health decisions.

Quercetin is an amazing polyphenol with tremendous health benefits!

Quercetin is a type of naturally occurring polyphenol flavonoid. Research suggests that it offers a range of health benefits like ability to help promote healthy blood pressure levels and modulates histamine for allergies.

You can also find them in apples, pears, kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, green tea, black tea, unsweetened cocoa powder

Please note that some of these foods are high in histamine, so if you're looking for the histamine-inhibiting properties of quercetin, avoid those ones (spinach, black tea, red wine, citrus).

Although these foods with quercetin are great, it can be hard for some people to get an adequate amount through diet.

That's why I’ve specially formulated HistoRelief, a supplement that contains not only quercetin, but butterbur, stinging nettle, mangosteen, and ginger - ingredients that are all very supportive to the immune system & histamine levels.

Next post is about "What is Quercetin ?"

🦵 Your body weight can affect knee joint stress more than you think.
The knee is a complex joint where the femur and tibia meet. During activities like walking, squatting, and climbing stairs, forces through the joint can be several times greater than your actual body weight.
That’s why even relatively small changes in body weight can change the mechanical load placed on the knees.
Research also suggests that losing around 10% of body weight can improve pain and physical function in many people with knee osteoarthritis.
Your weight isn’t the only factor—but when appropriate, gradual weight management can be one useful part of supporting joint health. 💪

That "quick meal" isn't as harmless as it looks. Most instant noodles are ultra-processed products engineered for shelf life, not human biology. Many contain TBHQ, a synthetic preservative that helps fats stay stable but has been linked in experimental studies to oxidative stress and metabolic disruption at high exposures. They're often packaged in polystyrene cups, which can shed small amounts of microplastics and styrene when boiling water is added. Then come the flavor enhancers, artificial colors, and excess sodium, designed to intensify taste and keep you craving more.

Eggs have long been debated in the world of nutrition, mainly because of their cholesterol content. For years, people were told to limit egg intake to protect heart health. However, newer research suggests the story is more nuanced.
While eggs do contain cholesterol, dietary cholesterol has a smaller impact on blood cholesterol levels than previously believed. In fact, saturated fat intake tends to have a greater influence on raising harmful blood lipids.
Eggs are also highly nutritious. They provide high-quality protein, healthy fats, and compounds like oleic acid, which is also found in olive oil and associated with heart health. This makes eggs a dense and efficient food source.
What matters most is individual response. Some people can eat multiple eggs daily with no negative impact on their health markers, while others may need moderation.
The key takeaway is simple: don’t rely solely on general guidelines.
Monitor your own health and adjust your diet based on your body’s response.
