My debut novel is available for purchase at Bookmundo under my nom de plume, Anja Sliva.
“A Petty Revenge” is available in hard-copy and e-book form. I have intentionally chosen a European publisher. I have also taken necessary steps to ensure that my copyright is protected, which I think is important for any creator to do and all the more so in the age of AI.
The elevator pitch: an intergenerational incest saga set in twentieth century Russia. It is about vulnerable, hungry people in wartime and surviving in political systems that are not meant to look after their best interest. It shines a blinding torch light on abuse and its web of consequences. There is a twist at the end, which, as an avid reader myself, I see as a perfect chef’s kiss, probably inspired by one of my main men, Franz Kafka.
It took me four and a half years from the initial scribbles to hitting “publish” in the last month. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my dear friends for their encouragement and those who have believed in me from day one. I am grateful for my fellow creators who were open about their own art and visibility journeys, for their guidance and their imparted lessons. And a huge thank you to everyone who has already shown interest in this book. Now the second life of “A Petty Revenge” can begin. It no longer belongs to me, but to the readers.
I will definitely have a party to celebrate this, starting in Brussels, of course. There will be champagne, a reading by me, a book signing, and hopefully a dance. Why not? Life’s rough for everyone, but it’s still worth celebrating major milestones. So watch this space. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is invited.
Going forward, I will contact bookshops, libraries and cultural centers to continue to create hype about my story. If you are interested in the book or in hearing my experiences, please reach out directly.
If you have a project in you that you keep ruminating on year after year, do yourself and the rest of us a favor and put it out there. Art heals us, and there is no way to know how your art can heal another. I'm so glad I finally got over the fear of being seen and surrendered to the creative itch. by @anjasliva

Update on my self-publishing journey: my book is ready! It is written, it is edited and formatted, and it has been four and a half years in the making. I am so excited to share my debut with all of you.
Now I'm going dancing to make sure that I really sleep well on it before checking final alignments tomorrow, clicking PUBLISH and ordering hard copies for my fans. Watch this space 🙌🏻
Seriously, this is a dream come true, and all I had to do to make it happen was to stop being chosen. Huh, riddle me that.
