For the CONDUIT Project, I am creating a new body of my largest and most ambitious paintings to date, inspired by two rewilding, post-industrial rivers of Bradford, the Wharfe where I swim, and the Worth, where I live. There will be two exhibitions under the banner of CONDUIT. The first, Know Your Worth, is a collaborative, community driven project involving riverside workshops and painting, music, character designs and eco photography in a celebratory group exhibition in Keighley. The second, Wharfespeed, is an exhibition of my new paintings at The Manor House in Ilkley. There'll be poetry, music, live painting, storytelling, and underwater film. I'll be working in collaboration with local communities and other river-loving creatives and CONDUIT will tell powerful stories about our connection to the rivers and each other. In June, as part of our Roots in the River Project, we spent a morning at @keighleytowncouncil's Damems Nature Reserve, helping to run an art workshop led by local artist @anjitimlin 🎨Equipped with our mini paint palettes and booklets, we took a mindful walk through the woodland and down to the river, tuning in to the sights, sounds and smells around us, and painting our responses to these senses as we moved.🐝🐦‍⬛Inspired by the surrounding wildlife, woodland and nearby River Worth, participants created beautiful concertina artworks capturing their own personal journeys through the reserve.💧🍃Everyone left with a unique piece of art that captured their morning at the nature reserve, and feeling a deeper connection to the natural world. @heritagefunduk by @anjitimlin

ANOTHER absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday at Damems Nature Reserve for the CONDUIT project! MASSIVE thanks to an enthusiastic and dedicated group of 8 young people came along to spend time in nature by the river Worth with @louiehc123 and learn about analogue photography and cyanotypes. They made some beautiful cyanotypes despite the grey skies, and we can't wait to see how their photographs come out after Louie has developed them!
