HALF became “full” last weekend! 💃🏻💃🏻

The premieres in both the SF Bay Area and Boston were unforgettable, and we are still reeling from the energy of it all!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, supported us, and joined us on this journey. HALF is a new work rooted in half-beat cycles that celebrates and elevates the sophistication of Kathak through rhythm, movement, and storytelling.

Step into the world of Kathak with Anjali (@anjnath ) accompanied with live music by Akili Jamal Haynes (@becomingchibuzo )

This all-levels class explores the rhythms, movements, melodies, stories, and philosophies of Kathak—Northern Indian classical dance. From foundational technique and mathematical counting sequences to theatricality, storytelling, and the meaning behind movement, students will discover how dance and music come together as a form of “meditation in motion.”

Whether you are new to classical Indian dance or looking to deepen your practice, all are welcome!

Registration for drop-ins is still welcome for all Community Courses which can be found in the linktree in our bio. Open to the public!

It’s never long enough, but a super blessed summer a family, dance, community, nature. As much as I could squeeze in between work, performances, community outreach, and a little extra sleep. Found myself actually smiling to myself when sitting alone. Very rare to find the space for that! If you’re reading this, remember how blessed we are to be able to. In just a couple of weeks, we premiere HALF, a confrontation between two halves of oneself, where emotions get pushed, stretched, and turned upside down.
