Collected moments in Kyoto 🍃🫖🍵 Finding beauty in the pause. #slowtravel #visitjapan #japantravel #kyoto #japanitinerary by @anka.bechtel
A path of endless red torii, winding deeper into the forest⛩️✨ Each gate was placed here as an offering — a wish, a prayer, a moment of gratitude. At first, Fushimi Inari feels busy and almost overwhelming. But the higher you climb, the quieter it gets. The crowds slowly disappear, the city fades away, and all that’s left is the sound of the forest around you🌿🇯🇵 One of those places that feels completely different once you leave the main path behind. 📍 Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kyoto #fushimiinari #kyoto #kyotojapan #japantravel #japandiaries by @anka.bechtel
When in Kyoto I made more than 1,000 friends at Otagi Nenbutsu-ji 🗿🏯 Definitely one of our favorite temples in Japan. Hidden away in the hills of Arashiyama, the temple is home to more than 1,000 unique Rakan statues — and no two seem to have quite the same expression. Some are smiling, some look mischievous, some seem deep in thought… and somehow we wanted to stop and look at every single one! A little different from the temples you usually picture when you think of Kyoto — and that’s exactly what we loved about it 🇯🇵 #otaginenbutsuji #kyoto #kyotojapan #japantravel #japandiaries by @anka.bechtel
Early mornings in K Y O T O 🇯🇵 For us, the best way to explore this ancient city. At the most popular sights, the crowds were overwhelming. Even by 7am, on our way to breakfast after an early morning of sightseeing, we were already encountering plenty of people out exploring. There is so much to see and explore – and so many hidden gems to discover. We quickly learned that getting up early was definitely worth it. Kyoto should be on every Japan bucket list 🇯🇵 #kyoto #kyotojapan #japantravel #japandiaries #traveljapan by @anka.bechtel
One of Tokyo‘s most iconic sights: up to 3 thousand pedestrians cross with every light change 🫪 It was much fun watching people sprint onto the crossing to get their perfect photo or video. We may or may not have contributed to that statistic 🤷‍♀️🤭 After crossing it ourselves a few times, we can confirm: the hype is real! Definitely a must-see in Tokyo! #shibuyacrossing #shibuya #tokyo #japantravel #visitjapan by @anka.bechtel
Konichiwa Tokyo 🗼⛩️🎋🎏 And now that I’ve finally been here, I keep asking myself the same question: How is Tokyo this incredible – and why didn’t we come here sooner?! 🤩 Tokyo has definitely delivered! And honestly? We’ll be back. 🇯🇵 #tokyo #tokyojapan #japantravel #japantrip #japandiaries by @anka.bechtel
