Kochani, zrobiliśmy film, przy którym można sobie popłakać, pośmiać się, a potem wyjść z kina i zadzwonić do starej przyjaciółki albo przyjaciela. Przypomnieć sobie, czym naprawdę jest przyjaźń i jak bardzo niesie nas przez życie.

@zuzagrabowska i @agatawatrobska stworzyły coś niezwykle ciepłego i prawdziwego — jako pisarki, artystki i aktorki. Ze wspaniałym wsparciem mega producentów @sylwiawit i @paweldomagala dodatkowo grali @januszchabior i Andrzej Grabowski. Światło @iga.pop i @piramidafilm camera z @panavisionofficial w Polsce … camera @steadikub @jasieksadowski @grzechglowny

Powstał taki bardzo polski film, po którym po prostu można się dobrze czuć. Film o wszystkim i o niczym. O śmierci i o życiu. O przyjaźni. O dorastaniu, nawet kiedy już dawno jesteśmy dorośli. Bez wielkiej dramy i wielkich deklaracji.

Trochę jak we włoskim neorealizmie — o tych małych, pozornie zwyczajnych momentach, które tak naprawdę nas zmieniają. Bo może właśnie w nich kryje się całe sedno naszego człowieczeństwa.

Jestem ogromnie szczęśliwa, że mogliśmy zrobić ten film razem. ❤️ Once in a while, a film comes along that becomes much more than a film.

Droga is about friendship, midlife, and that strange moment when everything seems to fall apart—only for you to discover something about who you really are.

@zuzagrabowska is an extraordinary director and writer, together with her co-writer and co-star @agatawatrobska . At the heart of the film are these women—their friendship, their lives, their disappointments, their absurdity, their tenderness—with the wonderful men of our cast orbiting around them. And behind it all was an incredible crew who helped us build this world together.

But for me, Droga somehow reaches beyond Polish cinema. It exists in a place almost outside of time—a world where friendship matters more than all the things that divide us, where losing your way might actually be the beginning of finding it.

There is no right way. There’s only the long game.

Be light on your feet, for you will often face defeat, and in that defeat, you will find yourself again and again.

Your art is your friend.

You were meant to create, not hate, not compete, not chase something that in the end is just an illusion.

And we’re back, friends. It’s teaching time again.

I have been on a deep, top-secret mission that has taken me around the globe to far-flung places, exploring pistachio Oreos, among other things. You will hear about all of it.

But I’m back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I love connecting with you on here. I love sharing my work. I love looking at your work. And I love the communities we can build through this wacky, wild digital medium.

I hope you’re doing great out there and that September is treating you well.

I’m going to be teaching. I’m going to be learning. I’m traveling. And I can’t wait to share everything I’ve been doing.

For those who are new here...
I’m Anka.
I’m a cinematographer, filmmaker, educator, and lifelong student of visual language.
Over the last two decades, my work has taken me from Hollywood television to independent cinema, from India to Hawaii, across Europe and the Middle East. Every place, every collaboration, and every story has shaped the way I see the world.
I’ve come to believe that cinematography is about far more than beautiful images.
It’s about empathy.
It’s about culture.
It’s about understanding why one visual choice can change the way an audience feels, remembers, and connects.
The older I get, the more I choose projects—and people—in alignment with those values.
This page is where I share that journey: filmmaking, visual language, teaching, travel, and the ideas that continue to shape my work.

Ten film zaczął się od jednej myśli o przyjaźni.

Kiedy zbliżałam się do czterdziestki, coraz częściej myślałam o ludziach, którzy pojawiają się w naszym życiu na różnych etapach.
Są takie osoby, przy których po latach nagle znowu stajemy się sobą. Nie dlatego, że kiedyś było lepiej. Po prostu są relacje, które przypominają nam, kim jesteśmy.

Od tego zaczęła się @drogarzadziejprzemierzana

Od początku wiedziałam, że nie chcę opowiadać historii o miłości romantycznej. Chciałam zrobić film o przyjaźni. O relacji, która potrafi być równie ważna, równie trudna i równie zmieniająca życie.
Choć ten film zaczyna się od straty, tak naprawdę opowiada o nadziei. O tym, że nawet po najtrudniejszych doświadczeniach drugi człowiek potrafi pomóc nam odnaleźć drogę.
I że śmiech nie zawsze oznacza brak bólu.
Czasem jest po prostu sposobem, żeby przetrwać.
As I was approaching forty, I found myself thinking about the people who come into our lives at different stages. There are some people who, even after years apart, make us feel like ourselves again. Not because the past was better, but because certain relationships remind us of who we were—and who we still are.

That thought became the starting point for „The Road Less Traveled”.I wanted to tell a story about friendship. A relationship that can be just as meaningful, just as powerful, and just as life-changing as romantic love, yet so rarely takes center stage in film.
Although the story begins with loss, it’s ultimately about hope. About finding strength in another person when life feels at its hardest. And about how laughter doesn’t always mean we’re not hurting. Sometimes, it’s simply how we makeit through. @drogarzadziejprzemierzana

🎬 Directing Multi-Character Scenes? Here’s what separates amateurs from pros:
It’s not just about blocking bodies and grabbing coverage—it’s about designing relationships on screen.
When multiple characters share the frame, every choice matters:
→ Where do they sit or stand? Proximity = power dynamics.
→ Who moves first? Movement = intention.
→ Whose POV do we favor in coverage? Framing = perspective.
A four-person dinner scene isn’t about shooting OTS on everyone and calling it a day.
It’s about shaping tension, connection, and emotional flow through lensing, eyelines, spatial composition, and rhythm.
Think The Social Network deposition scenes or Succession’s boardroom power plays—
the camera is always telling you who’s in control, who’s excluded, and who’s unraveling.
