The quintessential Quokka selfie!

At least you can listen to my ideas without complaining! by @ankurbashar

The child of the ocean must be named after the fire found in it!
Let’s look at it together!? by @ankurbashar

New life looks colourful,
Yet it comes with new challenges
Wrapped around the gift of colour
I don’t desire comfort because I live in a state of flux
The path of the seeker must test the seeker first before revealing itself.
The discovery of the path is not the destination
It is just the first step.
A long distance is yet to be covered. by @ankurbashar

Learning to Weave on Peter collingwood loom. One of the rarest looms in Australia, possibly the only one.

Words, silences, and rhythms.

I understand that all arts converge at a point where technique disappears and the being emerges.

I find writing and weaving to be synonymous acts, particularly double weaving, where one thread remains hidden while another reveals itself.

You have to be curious to understand when the shaft moves and when the ink flows, when the hammer strikes and when the string is moved.

To learn an art is to learn its silences, to recognise what remains beneath the surface, what holds the visible together, and what makes the invisible speak. by @ankurbashar

A Prayer for the departed soul
———————-__————————
May you find peace where the waves meet the sky.

May the ocean hold you gently and carry you beyond pain.

I pray for your soul, for the life that was, for the journey that ended too soon.

May you rest without sorrow, may you be free.

And may the sea hold you tenderly in its endless embrace.

Cage them when they try to fly! 🪰 by @ankurbashar

Sometimes you have to take your chances,
You either do the math or create art by following your heart.

The Water Ritual

Eulogy for the Living 2026

Quake in the heart causes tears.
Quake in words causes anger.
Quake inside makes the stiffness crumble.
A quake outside, I cannot control the collapse.

I saw the shaman
weaving energy
between two betel leaves.

I saw the master
practicing philosophy
in the midst of crumbling
rules and regulations.

The rupture made my friend angry.

And the dragon
got a broken heel.

The healing ritual was incomplete
or was lacking intention?

Maybe.

I saw an eagle flying
and the gecko licking
words of provocation
before going into the ground.

The dancer danced his protest
when people were busy writing.

But the writer was dead.

This year:

re-calibrate,
re-design,
contain,

and bear it with care,

the harshness of words,
the absence of love.

Water will lead the way.

And when its time comes,
it will become ink.

While the little lions dance in the horse year!
