Little time on Burntside Lake in Ely, MN. A little different in town this year as there were close to 1000 firefighters but not a lot of tourists. We canoed & fished & played cards & dock-sat and had fantastic meal after fantastic meal at the lounge. As always, my favorite weekend of the year.! taken in Burntside Lodge by @ann.b.jones

When your daughter’s boyfriend’s brother from Boise asks if you wanna come watch him play in a volleyball tournament a half hour from your house, of course you say yes! I haven’t watched a volleyball match since high school – – little did I know what I was stumbling into. The largest grass volleyball tournament in the world, 4000 teams, 400 courts, a whole different ecosystem that I didn’t know existed. In today’s adventure—little drive toward Sedona to do a 4 hour hike in Camp Verde. As per Derek’s typical hike selection, there was a warning sign , but we ignored it & managed to not drown/trip nor die during six creek crossings.
