6 months ago, I lost my incredible mum.

In some ways it feels like an eternity, and in others, like no time at all.
I think everyone should think their loved one is the most amazing person, but in her case I really do believe it with my whole being. She had this way of making you know that you were loved and welcome, whether she knew you or not. Mum would give everyone she met a big warm hug regardless if you were a hugger.
When I think of you, I see you smiling and laughing in the garden, having your morning coffee that dad always drew hearts in, on your skis, and when you’ve popped in on some friends for a cup of tea. You’re dancing and singing in the kitchen with your girls, and happiest when you were around family having a meal. What a privilege for every person in your life to know your love and kindness. I’ve always been told I look like my mum, and she always scoffed and said “poor you”. But in my eyes, she really was the most beautiful person inside and out, so I’d always think “Wow, how lucky am I?”
Mum showed me what it meant to be kind, taught me to ski, climb, garden, how to love and be loved, and how you’re one good meal away from turning around a bad day.

Words really can’t be used to encompass this wonderful, wild woman’s lifetime, or how much I miss her. But mum isn’t really gone, she’s in everything I do, everyday of my life. I think she leaves little signs for me, like hearts in my morning coffees. I often think how lucky I am to love her and be loved by her so much that I will spend the rest of my life missing her.

stayed busy this winter!
feeling really lucky for some incredible opportunities this winter. my first world cups and first Olympics!! thank you to my family, friends, the @thegrizzlypaw, and those who have supported me in so many ways this season. it’s been a crazy year with lots of ups and downs, but it’s been really cool to come full circle and be racing for Great Britain where I learnt to ski so many years ago ☺️ picture credits: @nordicfocus & @nmah_media & @brucethegoose by @anna._jane

better late than never! an appreciation post to @msubobcatskiing for four incredible years🫶🏽 turned Bozeman from a place with people, to family and a home. so grateful I got the opportunity to ski for this team and also graduate with my BSN 🩺 thank you always and cats on twoooo… 😽😽 by @anna._jane
