To the strongest, most selfless, independent, and beautiful woman I’ve ever known. The things I would do to sit on your back porch again, talking about anything and everything, watching the butterflies and hummingbirds. It doesn’t feel real that I’ll never get another one of your hugs or texts, and I’m having a hard time believing it ever will.

Through your words and the way you lived, you gave me the most beautiful perspectives, and were a constant reminder of the most important things in life. You cared more about those you loved than yourself, even in your last hours. A level of selflessness that’s hard for many to grasp, but it was so easy for you.

I’m forever thankful to have had you to look up to for the past 24 years. I feel so lucky to have loved and been loved by you so deeply that saying goodbye is this hard. You fought for so long, & as much as this hurts, I’m at peace knowing you don’t have to anymore.

A part of my heart went with you on Tuesday, but I promise to keep moving forward and to look for you in every sunset, every beach, & every butterfly. As many times as I told you I love you, still wish I could just one more time. miss you so much already Grandmother. 💜❤️ by @anna.blakee

My Grandma never let me go to church without my hair being brushed, even when I’d fight it. She let me watch SpongeBob when my parents wouldn’t, and let me use up all the flour and sugar just so I could “bake.” Never in my 9 years at St. Albert did I miss giving my favorite lunch lady a hug before recess, and if there was a storm, the teachers always knew exactly where to send me when I was scared. Things felt so much safer with you.

It doesn’t quite feel real that you won’t be home when I pop in to just sit and talk about anything and everything, this selfishly hurts so badly. However, I’m at peace knowing you’re back with those you love so deeply.

A big part of my heart went to Heaven yesterday, but how lucky am I to have loved and been loved so much by you. I miss you so much already. by @anna.blakee
