It's rare for me to be lost of words. I love words. I talk a lot. But since the end of the Kynren 2026 season on Saturday 12th of September, I'm not sure I have the eloquence to express all I feel and think.
This summer has been life-changing. Everything was new; the people, the shows, the site, the job. It could have been scary and tedious. But it wasn't. In fact, this has been one of the most beautiful moments in my life.
Nothing matches the thrill and pride of being part of something built to create joy and wonder to thousands of visitors, and it is a privilege to be there every day as one element of this magic machine.

Interacting with guests of all ages who smile from ear to ear and are full of the best compliments is amazing, although working with the team I had is actually even more enjoyable. 50 talented performers that I loved seeing every day (yes, even if it's to talk about shoes), an epic costume team ready for any challenges (and snack breaks!) and of course Mark Reid, my backstage partner in crime and fellow summer camp superviser.

I'm not sure which memories I will cherish the most, whether it's Silly Hat Thursdays, Viking Time, the slightly unhinged character Meet & Greet, the simple beauty of the Kynren site, the casual chats in the Green Room, the chickens escaping, the fire ball button experience... but I know I'm ready to do it all over again next summer ☀️⚔️

Simple pleasures are the best ☀️ my summer holiday weekend with friends, old stuff and silly moments.
Starring:
- selfies in front of Roman toilets and Hadrian's Wall (we think. Or maybe a random wall.)
- going to work but not actually working and having a great time
- visiting Beamish for the first time, including admiring the portrait of a legendary pigeon and a 19th-century scientifically accurate representation of the sun as well as confirming my official dislike for fairground rides.

Any suggestions for other whimsical experiences are welcome 💃 taken in County Durham by @anna.fiscus

Hey guys, we did it 🙌❤️

Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we have opened a new theme park, with 5 new shows, a new immersive dinner show, a complete new extension of the site, a new seasonal programme, all while still performing the amazing night show with our incredible volunteers. Wow.

I'm knackered, covered in dust from the building sites, legs achy from running around but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world right now. What a privilege. Super proud and grateful to everyone involved, at all levels, on and off stage, and a special mention to all Day Park cast who I've been supervising for a month now and are truly shining 🌟

Let's see what this first chapter of the Storied Lands has in store for us 💪

Hi. Been a while.

Sorry to anyone who has been left on "read" since May, I didn't mean to ignore you, I'm just fully immersed in living the dream.

The past 4 months have been such a whirlwind, I don't fully realise yet how much my life has changed. From the hectic London life to being welcomed by the warm Northern hospitality, I am settling well to this drastic change of scenery. But the pace is just as intense, if not more - and that's awesome.
I am now a proud and honoured member of the Kynren team, and if I had told this to my past self in 2021, as she was about to start her first summer show season as a new volunteer, she would have probably said a few Italian swear words and called me a liar. Somehow, it's true, and I love it. There is no crazier and more enthusiastic feeling than to be part of the best and most epic live show in the country, supporting hundreds of talented volunteers, helping direct a whole new scene, promoting this insane project and following the future (even more insane and epic) developments.

Ready to make Kynren and the North East of England shine ✅️🌟💪⚔️

Goodbye London, the past 4 years ish have been incredible... I will definitely miss some aspects of my Londoner life, the great views and architecture and access to culture, and especially in that corner of Ealing where I have a cute cat, lovely horses and one of the best amateur theatres where we can all be silly after a day's work ❤️ But I cannot ignore the call for great things happening in the North East... There is nothing quite like the incredible range of feelings you experience when working on a live show 🌟 so happy to see all our efforts for the past 3 months have resulted in an absolutely brilliant interpretation of My Fair Lady and a fab opening night! 😊🎉 1st musical as Assistant Director: done! ✔️

For almost a year now, I experienced the abrupt jump from an on-set freelancer lifestyle to a full-time office employee. What a jump indeed. Working in this strange new world has been filled with odd discoveries.
Why does my direct desk neighbour prefer to communicate with me via Teams messages and not actual speech?
Why is the mere action of standing and walking to spend 2 minutes in the kitchen for a coffee so thrilling?
Why is the main topic of the conversation the weather INSIDE the office (with the great battle between the pro- and anti-aircon)?
Compared to the hectic pace of a film set, I now have lunch breaks that consist of thinking as little as possible, and meetings that sometimes feel like simply a great excuse to use a nice boardroom and have a pleasant chat between colleagues. Instead of dreading how spending a whole day outside might get me soaked or sunburnt, I now dread the vitamin D deficiency from not feeling a single ray of sunshine on me for days on end. After the harsh back pains from 12 hours non-stop of standing and running from one film crew member to the next, I experienced for the first time high-level of numb-bottom-ness from unconsciously remaining frozen in my seat for 5 hours in a row.
Sounds like whatever the environment, the strange absurdities and the unhealthy habits affect anyone.
