If your life flashed before your eyes, what would you see? Where would you go? It’s scientifically proven that when you die, dopamine rushes through your body, so maybe you go back to the time of your life that changed you for the better. Would you see it the same?

A love letter to life. We go back to a time in history where life in America was anything but calm. In the summer of ‘69, a gifted teen grappling with the loss of his mother as his father is called to Vietnam, attends a top tier space camp that sets the course of his life, and his friends, who explore their collective past and future.

Similar to films like Stand By Me, October Sky, and Last Night In Soho. We explore a time of life from different perspectives, showing many experiences of racism, PTSD, generational trauma and more. My 2024 began with the opportunity to present an award onstage to writer/director Kelly Fremon Craig with one of my biggest muses, Greta Gerwig, seated in the audience. Something of a fever dream that made me exponentially grateful to be born at a time to have women filmmakers like them to look up to.

I don’t know what on earth I’m doing, not really. No four year plan or even four month plan most days…
Instead, in embracing flexibility, chasing what I’m passionate about and what brings me joy, I’ve found I’m the most fulfilled I’ve ever been. Nothing is promised- go with the flow, take gnarly risks! I recommend it.

I don’t know what I’m doing but at the end of every year I find “this has gotta be the best one yet” holds up and that’s enough assurance for me.

2023 brought me to 5 continents, introduced me to more beautiful souls across the globe, presented terribly challenging road bumps, bucketlist experiences and, I’d like to think, bamboo-tier growth. I cherish everyone who made it so!

2024 has colossal shoes to fill. I hope it surpasses you and yours’ wildest expectations (make it happen)

My solo backpack through Morocco has rendered me speechless and hopelessly sappy. Unmatched hospitality, some of the kindest souls I’ve ever connected with and an unbelievably colorful, rich culture and spirit has me homesick to return.

To those of you I galloped with on stallions along the sea, bartered in the mazes of medinas with or who shared in soul stirring talks while stargazing in the Sahara- I’m eternally grateful our paths crossed. I’ll remember your stories, faces and names forever.

The more places my backpack and I step foot in, the more I’m exposed to the bountiful goodness in the world.
I find we forget to talk about the overwhelming, unbelievable amount of kindness everywhere across the globe. And eye-roll inducing as it sounds written on social media, I’ve never believed anything to be truer.

So as far as kindness goes- Look for it. Notice it. And go be it. Life is too short!!

Morocco, I’ll be frequenting you as often as I’m able. Nassim, keep the mint tea hot and Mohammed, keep Flamingo ready for my return 🇲🇦 ! يلا taken in Morocco, North Africa by @anna.irene.m
