to the lovely ladies of AOII,

my 19 year old self had no idea that one decision would completely shape the woman she is today. looking back, i’ve come to see college isn’t just about classes; it’s about making mistakes, learning, and growing. the compassion, love, and respect that i’ve found among the women around me are values i will carry with me for the rest of my life. i joined AOII searching for belonging, for my people, and what i’ve found was so much more. if i could go back and make the choice again, i would choose AOII and every single one of you over and over again. i truly believe i was meant to meet each of you, and that’s is something i’ll never take for granted.

to my fam, meemaw loves you endlessly. watching you grow into strong, beautiful, and inspiring women has been one of my greatest joys. sophia, my child, you are my rock. you ground me and remind me daily what it means to love others unconditionally. elise, my second child, your laughter is contagious and your dedication shines through in everything you do. paige, my adopted child, even though our paths crossed later, i know it was for a reason, and im so grateful we are inseparable now. and to my g lils, you expanded my heart in ways i didn’t even know possible. i can’t wait to see the legacy of love and strength you continue to build. always remember to live with dignity, stay true to yourself, love loudly, and hold your head high. yall have shaped me into who i am.

to my fellow seniors, i will always cherish the hard work we’ve put in and the memories we’ve made. i’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together, and even prouder that we did it side by side.

thank you, my sisters, for shaping me into a better woman, for showing me how to embrace self love, and for reminding me never to apologize for who i am. these past few years are treasures i will hold close to my heart forever, and as the firsts of the lasts begin, i couldn’t be more grateful to spend them with the women who mean the most to me. i will always carry this sisterhood proudly; it’s not that i was an AOII, it’s that i am, and always will be, an AOII.
