Rest in peace my beautiful ballerina, my vain, glorious, fabulous Alla. Grandmother, but mostly muse and proud artist, always stylish with impeccable posture. Growing up around prisoners of war, always strong and stressed only about the right lipstick shade. Yours forever with love, the granddaughter with the long eyelashes ❤️‍🔥🩰

Iliada “Alla” Markhozovna Khabaeva was an elite, GITIS-trained ballerina who laid the foundation for professional classical ballet in Mongolia. Married to paleontologist Barsbold Rinchen, she is recognized as Mongolia’s first professional ballet master. She authored The Fine Arts of The Country of The Eternal Blue Sky, highly regarded for its analysis of traditional Central Asian nomadic and spiritual elements in combination with modern movements of the 20th century.

On June 18, 1956, she staged Boris Asafyev’s The Fountain of Bakhchisaray, Mongolia’s first-ever full-length professional ballet. Working alongside the Father of Mongolian Ballet, Baljinnyam Jamyandagva, she implemented the strict Vaganova training method and built the academic bridge between Russian, Buryat, and Mongolian performing arts. She could handle a drink like four grown men combined. by @annaaagata
