I don’t even know where to begin. I’m closing out my dance career at my 12th and final UDA nationals with the best team ever.

After not making finals for hip hop last year, we came back this year with hopes just to be back in it. We worked all season for this competition and every single day right after Christmas for 3 weeks straight on our winter break. All of this paid off and we exceeded every expectation we had and went into hip hop finals in 1st place.

In both our semis and finals performances we gave everything we had and showcased what we’ve been working so hard for. Unfortunately, the competition accidentally leaked our final scores so we saw that we weren’t in 1st anymore before final awards even began. We ended up finishing in 2nd place behind a great team with professional dancers but I couldn’t be more proud of us. During this whole process but especially this whole weekend, we worked hard, kept it classy, and proved to everyone who we are.

This years team is so special and this experience wouldn’t have been the same without each and every one of them. Going home with a 2nd place trophy in D1 hip hop and a 3rd place trophy in D1 gameday is more than I could’ve asked for. I truthfully couldn’t be more grateful.

I love you @sju_dance ❤️⛈️ by @annaaperricone
