Be well. Do Well.

What an act of polarity.

Yet what gratitude to get to pursue a balance of both.

The act of Being:
• All encompassing health in the mind, body, and soul.
• Including presence and gratitude.
• Radically defining and redefining your vision of success.
• Finding moments of peace and contentment.

results in…

The act of Doing:
• The pursuit of your purpose.
• Enforcing habits that enable consistent progressions.
• The choice of challenge to evoke change.
• Pushing towards your mission of success.

Perhaps that “being” is less of a place for mastery and more the acceptance of fluidity which vicariously enables other things to be done.

…to Be Well is to Do Well…

I get it!

You’re ready to make a change before the start of a new year.

But as much as you want the accountability of a professional, you don’t feel like you have much wiggle room to invest in yourself.

Good thing your insurance plan may already have you covered.

One of the biggest reasons I became a dietitian (rather than stay a nutritionist), was to allow my patients greater access to the medical nutrition support they deserve!

You too are entitled to have research backed and viable nutrition education and you may already have unused nutrition counseling sessions with a registered dietitian included in your health insurance benefits.

DM me or visit my website to schedule a free discovery call to see if your visits can be covered by insurance, so you can stop waiting and commit to your health, habits, and life now 🌿 by @annabwellness

Breaking down what breaks your food down👇🏼

🌱Prebiotics
These are types of fiber and resistant starches that your body can’t digest. Instead, they travel to the large intestine where they become food for your beneficial gut bacteria, helping the environment in your gut grow and thrive.

Foods rich in prebiotics include:
• Garlic
• Chia/flax seeds
• Cruciferous veg
• Oats
• Beans and lentils
• Green bananas
• Apples / pears
• Chicory root (often found in prebiotic sodas)
• Cooked and cooled potatoes or rice

🦠Probiotics
Probiotics are live beneficial microorganisms found in fermented foods and some supplements. They help support and populate a healthy balance of bacteria in your gut, which plays a role in improving digestion, immunity, and nutrient absorption.

Foods rich in probiotics include:
• Yogurt / Kefir with live cultures
• Sauerkraut
• Kimchi
• Miso

The best way to support a healthy gut microbiome is to eat a diverse variety of foods that are high in prebiotics and ones that are high in probiotics!

Buckle up…Your Stomach has No Teeth

A showcase of the cheapest digestive enzymes and the fastest way to biohack satiety.

But really, more chewing leads to ~

Less bloating: by stimulating your stomach to produce more good digestive juices before your first bite even makes its way there, putting less strain on the gut all at once.

Increased nutrient absorption: saliva contains enzymes like salivary amylase, which begins breaking down starches, and lingual lipase, which starts the breakdown of lipids (often the slowest macronutrient to breakdown). More digestion started before food even reaches your stomach means more nutrient absorption from the foods you’re intentionally choosing to nourish your body.

Presence: time spent chewing allows you to experience the taste, texture, and complexity of your meal. Even a dish you’ve had a thousand times before has depths to notice, be it variation or familiarity or comfort.

Better body communication: it takes roughly 20 minutes for hormones and nerve signals to communicate that you’ve eaten enough. The less you chew your food the harder you make it for those signals to have a chat.

Even eating alone: It can be easy to allow distractions when eating alone to pull you from your meal. *me wondering where my last bite went*
• Take a breath while chewing.
• Put your fork down between bites.
• Sit outside for your meal.

If you’re curious what I’m making for dinner…

block your calendar immediately, you’re about to get an invite.

A dish too good not to be shared.

Fast enough to stay present, tasty enough to be one of the best meals you’ve ever eaten.

What’s your fail proof recipe to have with company?

2 TBS of each or with your heart. Cardamom can get powerful so I recommend keeping it to 2-3 tsp and chili flakes are to your spice desire ❤️‍🔥 by @annabwellness
