Missing you so much Chubby 💔

I’m grateful that you waited for my return this year back to Vancouver even tho it pains me to see you fade over the weeks until you’re departure. Thank you for your unconditional love and smiles whenever I return. I still remember so vividly on your last day where you used every inch of energy left to crawl toward me and Theo on your last morning with us, not realising those were my last moments with you.

Although it was the most perfect ending I could ask for, it still hurts so much knowing that you’re gone. You’ll always have a special place in my heart and will forever remember our fond moments together.

Rest in peace my baby girl.

Wholesome weekend on a yoga 🧘‍♀️ retreat that filled my heart and soul with love and feeling refreshed - just what I needed.

My goal was to reflect on what’s happened in the past, live in the present and practice self care. By spending a weekend away solo without my partner gave me space to really think about my goals and to put myself in unfamiliar situations so that I can continue my personal growth. I didn’t know what I’d expect when signing up to a retreat for my first time with majority of people I’ve never met. However it was the best decision because I grew so many new friendships, had the best roomie @aoifedomican,and realise what it truely means to find your people who are like minded individuals. 🫶

I also realise as I was journaling, that I’m much kinder to myself. I use to have so many negative thoughts and expectations of myself, and blame myself for things I cannot control. Journaling really helped me create awareness of my mindset and I honestly had happy tears because it’s been a very long journey with my personal struggles. I finally felt peace for the first time 😌

A personal post that’s raw and filled with vulnerability, and hopefully provides comfort to whoever reads this - know you’re not the only one fighting battles.

I’ve personally been battling infertility for the past 4 years and as time goes by, I know my window of opportunity is narrowing. The past two years have been emotionally and physically draining as I’ve embarked on IVF, thinking it’ll solve my problems after a single round. As I write this post, I’ve just ended my 7th round with tears streaming down my face knowing that my miracle hasn’t arrived yet. With every round that goes by , it feels like a confirmation that my body just won’t do what it’s suppose to. Will it ever? That’s the unknown question.

Honestly I’d prob already cried an ocean of tears from all the emotional stress I put myself through, fluctuating hormones that made me feel so self conscious of my own body, physical stress from all the injections & surgeries, while gaining weight in the process from all those damn hormones. As each passing round goes by, I just feel more numb each time.

However, it’s comforting to know that IVF is more common than most people think. We just don’t talk bout it much and woman are left in the dark struggling thinking they are alone. You’re not alone babe, and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

I know most social posts are bout glamours positive posts but I wanted to share aspects of my life that’s real, raw, and that our lives are never perfect. We all struggle whether it’s relationships, financial, health, infertility, and the list goes on.

I’m just grateful that I have a loving partner & best friend who’s been by my side like a rock. We’re doing our best to try to enjoy the journey called life with a few major bumps along the road which we will eventually figure it out together. For now, I’ve decided to not completely shut the door on growing our family but one day, it might be the right choice for us knowing that we will be content and have tried our very best. #infertilityjourney taken in Sydney, Australia by @annachuang_

That’s my wrap up of 2023 🎁

Even though 2023 was tough with major ups and downs, it was a year of resilience along with many milestone moments. Looking back at my camera roll reminded me to celebrate these moments ❤️

✈️ Started the year travelling in Perth
🚘 We purchased our first car together and named him Bobba
🇦🇺 Officially became Australian citizens
✈️ Visited Vancouver, Canada
❤️ Spent quality time with friends & family
✈️ First time travelling to Europe 🇫🇷🇮🇹
🏠 Purchased our first interstate investment property
👩🏻‍💻 Switched to a new team at work

📍Manarola, Cinque Terre

I’d say this is my top seaside village out of all of them. It’s was beautiful and the colourful houses by the cliff was super photogenic. Hiked from Vernazza to this village and was so worth the views 🌊😍

There is a total of 5 villages and collectively known as Cinque Terre. The history of these villages use to be a winery farming fishing town. Now it’s packed with tourists even during shoulder season so it’s best to head out early to beat the crowds or sunset when most tours are over.

One of the most beautiful seaside villages of Cinque Terre and did a beautiful hike from there too! Even the sights by the train station was breathtaking 😍

📍Sardinia, Italy 🇮🇹

We expored the northern island of Sardinia and certain spots were truely break taking! It was a break from all that walking since we drove 🚗 around to different spots. Accomodation was much more affordable but not exactly cheap ( $180-250/night AUD) and much more enjoyable without the crowds. 1 euro was 1.68 AUD 😵‍💫🫠 since our dollar is pretty 💩 atm.

Also, not many people would fly 1.5 hours from Pisa or ride a boat for 12 hours to reach here.

As beautiful as it is, I’ve been spoiled from my WA road trips and must say Australia is just or even more beautiful than Sardinia when it comes to coastal 🌊views.

The gorgeous #pantheon #rome 🇮🇹

Stayed 50m from the pantheon in Rome and was the best location. Originally was planning to stay near the Vatican but switched accomodation a week prior so that we can just simply walk to majority of the site. I frequently went back to the accommodation cause there’s minimal public toilets! #struggles

15 min walk to Trevi fountain & Spanish steps, shops, and 30min walk to Colosseum

Manage to capture the beauty of the fountain without the crowds #trevifountain #romeitaly 💙

The key 🔑 is to wake up early and get to fountain by 7am to beat the crowds. We visited all the historic sites where we knew would be packed by the time it hit 10am, which is when tours begin. There were still some people up early wandering Rome but it was much more pleasant with many photo opportunities #traveltips

We stayed right beside the Patheon so this Trevi fountain was only a 15min walk from our accommodation 🥰 taken in Trevi Fountain, Rome by @annachuang_
