Threads of Connection

Fashion design take over at the NordicHouse during @designmarch

Transforming the architectural landmark in Reykjavík and cultural institution designed by Aalvar Aalto @alvaraalto in 1968 to a vibrant platform for fashion and conversation.

Theme of DesignMarch festival 2026 is Connections.

“How do we connect through fashion, tradition, rituals and craftsmanship”?

Open to all, the Nordic House will host showrooms from a bespoke curation of emerging & established designers, panel talks, presentations, dance performance, textile installation,
photo exhibitions, re-visit Icelandic fashion archive, pop-up store, workshops and tea ceremonies.
Presented in a calming Nordic setting.

Threads of Connection, aims to foster meaningful conversations about fashion, culture and community,
while enhancing the value of showcased design.

The initiative emphasises local talent, education and promoting a global perspective rooted in Icelandic craftsmanship and tradition.
