Does every decision feel like it could take you out?

I used to feel that way, too. Especially after big life changes, barely functioning with a dysregulated nervous system, and not knowing exactly what I wanted (surviving was the goal, really).

After a while of spinning my wheels, I started doing a few small things to quiet my mind and relearn how to trust my own voice.

& no, it does NOT include running every single thought through Chat 😂

Being decisive and taking action, one way or another, beats indecision every time. So here’s to silencing the noise and moving forward...even if it’s one baby step at a time.

Things won’t always be perfect, and we’re bound to stumble. But every bump in the road is just a lesson as long as we get back up to try again.

Nowadays we can order groceries from the couch and shop online for next-day delivery, but nothing will ever replace this Saturday market feeling 👒

Shopping local means more of your dollar stays right here at home… plus it’s so fun meeting entrepreneurs, seeing the hands behind the products, and getting to know the why behind each small business!

Coming back to the @washingtonfarmersmarket is always like reuniting with old friends. It’s so incredible to see shops as they evolve, grow, and thrive in our community 🧺

Since fall is the season of letting go 🍂

I stopped giving my energy to these types of friends…

1. The one who went out of her way to compliment everyone around her but found a way to put me down. I brushed it off the first few times, but the last time, I decided I didn’t want to put myself in that position again.

2. The one who was always complaining, whether it’s about a spouse, family, or other “friends.” An occasional vent session is totally fine, but when her name pops up on my screen and I already know what’s coming, that’s soul draining.

3. The one who likes and comments on influencers’ and celebrities’ posts but never mine. I’ll heart and hype up her content all day, yet I never see her name in my notifications. It’s not a big deal, but also…it is.

4. The one who treated every interaction like a transaction. I’m not one to keep score, and watching you be nice to people with an ulterior motive in mind makes the whole vibe feel icky.

5. The one who only reached out when she needed something…a favor, a referral, or shoulder to cry on. When it was my turn to lean on a friend, she was suddenly “so busy.”

6. The one who made everything a competition. Any small win I shared was met with an elaborate story to top it. True friendship shouldn’t feel like a race.

I say this all with no hard feelings, I’m just looking for peace these days. Whether it’s at work, the gym, or a group you aren’t really sure about, it’s okay to be picky about who you surround yourself with.
