i’ve had chronic illness for a while, and i’ve had symptoms for even longer. it doesn’t often show on the outside. it’s not cute, it’s occasionally humiliating, and it’s very much not what i had in mind for this time in my life. but it’s real, and i’m definitely not the only one dealing with it. i used to see other people talk about it on social media and i always thought that the last thing i wanted to do is make it my entire personality. but after the past year it has consumed more of my life, and if being open about that comes with blatant disinterest from others, i still think it’s worth it. my life looks different now, and i’d rather be honest and candidly annoying about that than act like it isn’t happening. that’s all 🤍 by @annalisebrinks
