Passenger has just released his new music video for "Boomerang". Mike's lyrics for this song, as always, are emotional and authentic. I could strongly relate when he sang, "I wanna love and be loved. I wanna feel alive."

The music video, which is on YouTube, was filmed in the scenic fishing village of Polperro, Cornwall. The cinematography is gorgeous, and showcases how breathtakingly beautiful the county of Cornwall is. I would love to see the storyline of Mike playing the role of a lonely fisherman expanded into a feature film, please. 🙏

I just watched "I Swear", starring Robert Aramayo. It's an exceptional biopic, about Tourette's advocate John Davidson. This film will make you laugh a lot, and it might also make you cry. It was released in the UK last year, and Aramayo won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and the Rising Star Award. The film was released in the US this year, making it eligible for nominations at next year's Academy Awards. I certainly hope that Robert Aramayo will be among the nominees, as his acting is some of the best that I have seen in a film. by @annalog002

I finished Season 2 of Murdoch Mysteries this morning, and what a great season it was!

I would like to dedicate a post to one of my favourite characters, Constable George Crabtree, played by the magnificent Jonny Harris. He is one of my favourites because he brings comic relief to a TV series that usually has a serious tone. Even though Crabtree's superiors are often mean to him, as he is prone to going off on tangents, I appreciate him as a very good police officer when he is on track. This is shown particularly in Episode 9 of Season 2, when Detective Murdoch is injured while on a case, and Crabtree steps in as acting detective for Station House Number 4. I thought that Crabtree looked very sharp in the detective's uniform, as shown in these pictures. He did very well at the case assigned to him, under enormous pressure from Inspector Brackenreid. 👏

I look forward to seeing what is in store for Season 3. 💯

I have recently discovered a marvellous 2008 Canadian TV series called Murdoch Mysteries. It is based on the Detective Murdoch series of books by Maureen Jennings, and follows police detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) as he solves murder cases in Toronto in the 1890s. Murdoch sometimes uses investigative techniques that are new for the time, such as a lie detector in Episode 8.

I am eight episodes into Season 1, and I am hooked. Each murder mystery is solved in the period of a 45 minute episode, and I have liked the variety of each case. I like how the series does not shy away from tackling difficult subjects that still have relevance today, such as discrimination against people of colour in Episode 3, and Murdoch's strong Catholic beliefs being challenged when a gay man is murdered in Episode 5. The latter episode in particular shows the strength of the writing in Murdoch's character, showing that his own biases play a part in his views of the cases that he investigates, with the character development of him overcoming these biases.

Modern audiences will find some humour in the series, such as in Episode 8, where Murdoch tries coffee for the first time, finds it far too bitter, and declares that he does not see it catching on. 😆

Lastly, this series features a very attractive cast. In addition to Yannick Bisson, Hélène Joy plays Doctor Julia Ogden, who is a medical examiner who assists Murdoch on his cases. Joy is from my city of Perth, and she has a flawless Canadian accent in this series. Inspector Thomas Brackenreid and Constable George Crabtree, played brilliantly by Thomas Craig and Jonny Harris respectively, also work with Murdoch on his cases.

I look forward to seeing the mysteries that await Detective Murdoch.

Project Hail Mary is an incredible science fiction adventure film. It's got awesome sound and visual effects, a beautiful soundtrack, and dazzling production design. At its heart is a moving story about two scientists from different species (one a human named Ryland Grace, played by the magnificent Ryan Gosling, and the other an Eridian (a race of rocklike creatures) named Rocky) who are on a mission to save their respective species from extinction. This is a film that is deserving of multiple Academy Award nominations. 👏 #projecthailmary by @annalog002

Jessie Buckley is the first Irish actress to win an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, for Hamnet. She fully deserved this, as she has given the best performance by a lead actress in a film, that I can remember. Congratulations, beautiful lady! 👏 #jessiebuckley #hamnet #oscars by @annalog002
