PILOT 🛩️

I can think of no better way to finish my last semester of film school than to shoot a movie with my friends. Erin and I have been talking about this moment since day one, I wouldn’t be here without her and her incredible talent. Thanks for always believing in me and choosing me to capture this lovely story. I’m so lucky to make art with you.

Huge shoutout to my camera team, Melanie and Tremiti, for supporting me all throughout this process! You guys ran this show, I truly couldn’t have done it without you and all the time you put into your roles.

Miles and Dal, the incredible G&E team! Yall put up with me for a whole semester, thanks for being such talented collaborators and wonderful leaders. Love you guys and all your grip goblins!

As this semester comes to an end, it’s been fun to reflect on all the work I’ve done in these past few months. I’ve been so lucky to have such an incredible program at BYU that has provided me with these hands on experiences on set and with equipment (for free!) and connected me with so many talented students. BeReal is a silly way for me to document my experiences, but it’s the only way I’ve documented them because I just don’t take enough pictures haha.

Special shout out to all my mentors this semester, I couldn’t have done it without you:
Willem Kampenhout @willemkampenhout
Matthew Long @ufprentals
Sophie Whitaker @whitofsoph
Hannah Grace @hangrace7
Ricky Villanueva @rkyva
@byutma

And the friends who have supported me along the way:
Josh Clark @joshjclark4
Erin Gibson @eringibson19
Mira Plummer @miralindsay
Jacob Holman @jacobgholman
-
Now for some stats

Here’s a fun little list of all the cameras I worked with:
- ARRI ALEXA mini LF (I was certified by @rkyva to use it according to BYU TMA Dept standards!)
- RED Komodo
- Black Magic Pocket 4k and 6k
- Sony a7ii (my personal camera)
- Sony FS7
- Canon c100
- Canon t7ii

According to my schedule on google calendar, I spent 226 hours across 35 different shooting days on set from Jan 9 - Apr 20, which averages out to about 15 hours per week haha. Kinda crazy to see it in numbers like that but it does make me feel productive! by @annamnate
