I always thought turning thirty would make me feel old. That I’d start to believe life was passing me by, that it was too late to start over, or that my best days were behind me.

But I’m thirty-one today, and for the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like my life is ending or that I’m running out of time. I feel like I’m standing at the beginning of something really good. 🤍 taken in Cincinnati by @annaraebell

When you’re given a dream you’re either going to sleep on it or go into overdrive to make it come to fruition. I’d rather always do the later and see where it lands.

Seasons of Soul was just an idea that has turned into something much greater than one person. It’s the essence of real music produced and performed by real people for an audience that is experiencing real life.

“I don’t know if there will be any other photographers there.”

“I don’t think any of my friends are going this year.”

“I’m going to be the only person starting a new venture. Everyone else probably already has a well-established business.”

Those were all the reasons I convinced myself I didn’t belong in that space.

Instead, I ran into so many friends, met people I’d only known online, and made meaningful new connections.

@blacktechweek was inspiring, energizing, and full of connection and community. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and for the reminder that sometimes the only thing standing between us and an opportunity is the story we tell ourselves. taken in Cincinnati by @annaraebell
