Landslide – 2022/2023 Season

This was one of @dance.with.leanne and I’s earliest solo creations, and looking back, I wish I appreciated it more. This solo pushed me as both a human and a dancer in ways I couldn’t even imagine at the beginning. For years, I felt inadequate—like a failure because I couldn’t “crack the case” on how to perform and succeed in a solo. It turns out, there is no secret. Loving what you do and doing it to its fullest extent is the only way to succeed. And with this solo, I truly felt like I did.

This was a pivotal moment in my dancing life. At this particular competition, HDJ, I loved what I did. I earned That’s My Jam, and for the entire weekend, I was truly happy. For the first time, I felt like I belonged.

From then on, I’ve craved dance almost every day. I love spending time in the studio, and I’ve even learned to enjoy messing up because it’s made me more resilient and has pushed my dancing further.

To think that the girl who once hated how she looked and moved still lives inside of me is both terrifying and deeply gratifying. It reminds me how far I’ve come, and how much strength it took to become the person I am today.

Right now, it’s hard to imagine what it’ll be like without late Tuesday nights rehearsals or 7-hour Sundays, but I know that each girl I’ve been has led me here—and each version of me has learned how to let go and grow into something new.

As my time comes to an end at K Studio, I’ve found myself reflecting on all the versions of me that have come together to shape who I am now—and I keep coming back to this solo. It was the moment I began to truly love myself for who I was and what I had to offer. by @annarosegradisar

“All Again” 2024-2025 Season

This was a very special solo to me because I got to have a bigger part in the creative direction with @dance.with.leanne. We have done many solos together but this one was super special. I felt as if I got my “sauce” back (@postmodernfemme). This solo was super hard for me but I am proud of the progress it made. Thank you Leanne for helping me through this process. And thank you Kelly and @kstudiodance for helping me refine and run this piece. I can’t wait for senior year!! by @annarosegradisar
