Io non so leggere i tarocchi e bevo tanto caffè però.

ciao, I want to tell you that I managed to fill up a flat with furniture and people and we made carbonara in it.

At one point during the summer I danced at a party in a valley in Trentino all dressed in white, and started the fall with another one in a museum where we mis-commented on every exposed piece of art and it's for the best that there's no record of it.

Sama set up a lamp in my living room and almost got 220 volts through his fingers, legend has it that's why his hair turned white. Can you too claim to almost have left god's green earth for me?

Also Zieglergasse is back to ranking high among my favorite metro stops.

Alin and Silvia got married and Bucharest was 36 degrees celsius because of all our hearts beating together warming up the place.

We now have an even bigger family and my once-little cousin Edi is taller than me. Expanding love.

So many ups and downs these past few months i forgot how to sleep, but then i went to the alps had a revelation that you can mix three different sauces in your pasta and it will taste just fine if you're eating it with parmigiano, fresh garlic and dear sweet people you haven't seen in a while.

We accidentally attended a barrel-dropping convention in the woods somewhere in the austrian alps and I hurt my shoulder falling on a 500-year-old glacier at 3,200 meters.

Shoulder hurt for a bit but I'm still happy i went up that mountain, it was so so pretty.

That weekend in Santa Margherita Ligure when we lived off sun, focaccia and aperol.

Flav carried my bags during our trip even though he claims I could've carried him and his bags. So let's all thank flav for that. And Gio for being our emergency contact/mom at any given point.

This is what my first year in Vienna looks like.
After one year, I can speak a bit of German, rank subway lines from generally best to worst, and have a favorite Würstelstand. A favorite park for strolling around with a flat white. One for getting my head scratched in the sun. And a bar where I can be completely myself.

I still haven’t learned how to play table football, and my German has a long way to go—but for now, I take photos of my pretty friends playing, cheer them on, and speak a broken version to sweet people willing to listen to me.

I owe something to all of them (and more not in these photos). We often talk about love—giving and receiving. I don’t like to keep score, because I believe we all trade in different emotional currencies. But still, I owe you. Because Vienna feels like home when you're around.

"What I miss the most is my dog, cause I can't talk to them." Kinga says her dog hears her voice through the video calls but she doesn't really understand how phones work.

Kinga and I met in Vienna when she moved here for a semester to improve her German. She grew up with her dad and her sister in Poland, visiting her mom in Switzerland only during the summer vacations. "When I moved to Switzerland at 14 it was really tough because everything changed around me. It was the most difficult thing that I ever did, but we were looking for a better life. I didn't speak the language at all, and you can't make friends if you can't speak with them." Now it's easier for her to move places, "I need it, otherwise i get bored."

Kinga likes Neubaugasse and Burggasse, live music, sitting in viennese coffee shops, vegan cheesecake, tattoos, strolling around flea markets in freezing cold weather with me, being silly, her boyfriend Tom—who is very silly. "Everybody needs to be silly," she says.

"Roots are a thing of the future for me. Now I want to experience new things."
