๐€๐ง๐ง๐š ๐ฏ๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ is a visual artist working through performance, video, and sculpture. Her work is autobiographical in nature as she draws from personal encounters: a fall into a lake, a fly disappearing from a window, a father and a stepfather. By framing these occurrences within precise structures, she investigates the duration of a moment, the act of waiting and the fragile boundaries between certainty and doubt, control and its loss. In her recent work, a focus on the line emerges, not as a drawn mark, but as a measure, a boundary, or a horizon. This manifests as a physical trajectory in her zinc gutter sculpture Linea Recta. Van Bommelโ€™s pieces use a formal rigor to contain and make space for vulnerability. . Haar werk is autobiografisch van aard en vindt de oorsprong in persoonlijke ontmoetingen: een val in een meer, een vlieg die uit het raam verdwijnt, een vader en een stiefvader. Door de belevingen binnen een duidelijke structuur te plaatsen, onderzoekt ze de duur van een moment, het wachten als handeling en de grenzen tussen zekerheid en twijfel. In haar recente werk duikt er een focus op de lijn op, niet als getekende streep, maar als een richtlijn, een grens of een horizon. This group exhibition is built around the first artistic encounters between ๐’๐š๐ซ๐š๐ก ๐’๐ฆ๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ and the artists ๐‘๐š๐›๐ญ๐ž๐ง ๐“๐ž๐ง๐ณ๐ข๐ง, ๐€๐ง๐ง๐š ๐ฏ๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ, ๐‘๐ข๐ค ๐•๐š๐ง ๐†๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ, and ๐‰๐ข๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ก๐ฎ. Naast het werk uit die eerste kennismaking werden zij uitgenodigd om nieuwe creaties te ontwikkelen. Deze keuze om nieuw werk te faciliteren lag voor de hand voor Smolders. Het zal voor sommigen geen verassing zijn dat de praktijken van de uitgenodigde kunstenaars vaak snijlijnen opzoeken of grensgebieden aanrakenโ€”zoals tijd, schaal, ruimte, repetitie en arbeid of het lichaam op de proef stellen.
