What a night! Thank you to everyone who attended our Climate Story Summit last night in New Bedford, hosted at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. It was an honor to recognize the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe with the first Massachusetts Storyteller Award. 🙌🏽Kutaputash Shinnecock!! From friendly FaceTime featuring familiar faces far away in VA, helping me arrive safely just in time for the Cuffee Beach party, to spending the final day in the bay with tribal elders before sailing off into the sunset…Sincerely, kutaputunumuw Thank You All!!

Our family always attended their annual powwow. From the ferry ride over, it would always be an event our entire family looks forward to. Being able to share this experience with grandchildren now, it’s really made me focus more on their community not so much the event itself. When you barely know where your phone is nor need it, found myself taking in each moment a lil deeper this year. My spirit has prevented me from attending the past few years. Felt great to be back in their circle among those I grew up dancing with.

Naturally, I can always expect the typical @rezride with wheelies past NYPD state troopers and all, but this year I came thru with the surf & turf package to specifically focus on enjoying their waterways as well as their land. Gotta give a special thanks to @bizhiki_ @big_dream_weaver @netooeusqua and the crew for putting on the annual mishoon race and allowing us to run what we brung. Beautiful sunrise ceremony to bless us all before we began. Pâmpugussett (Spirit of the sea) was on our side. Major shout-out to @laurenbarbarapeters for insisting I drive around after missing the last ferry to insure our victory and participation. You did a phenomenal job keeping us in the race but wow was it close! Had to give everything I had in the tank just to keep up with @1eleven_111. Full blown beast! You set a blistering pace cuz.

On behalf of our entire family I’d like to thank MPTN for hosting us all this past weekend at their annual #Schemitzun powwow. Always look forward to having our Bermuda fam return to our homelands here. Hope you all enjoyed reuniting with our culture & community.

I personally would like to send a special shoutout to Jordan & @kreationsbykehala along with all our Haudenasaunee fam for not only attending but assisting our family as we honored our parents. I’ve always enjoyed my time among the 6 nations. Since my bros & I were wee lil savages, our family visits to Akwesasne, opening of the Turtle at Niagara and anytime we got to link up with any of the Dowdys we always knew it would be good medicine and great jams.
