A panther, a tiger, rustling foliage…✨✨✨
Drawing and sculpting animals is not merely about representation; it is about finding the right line, the right incision – the one that will make the eyes light up, the fur quiver, and the muzzle come alive.
It is also about striking the right balance between the landscape and the subject, finding the perfect form that allows the surroundings to serve as a setting for the panther and the tiger. And it involves orienting the scales of Papier so that the light traces the outline of a paw, highlights an ear, and brings the fur to life.
A touch of magic, so that the work itself fades into the background behind the sense of wonder evoked by the artwork.

A huge thank you to the Cartier teams for their trust, to @publicisluxe and, in particular, to @helenekerbiquetalazard and @elise.kubler for their support and their appreciation of my work.
Thank you also to @nathanrobin_ for his magnificent photographs.
And finally, a very special thank you to my agent and friend @agencepaulinecarretta. by @anne_feat_

This international Cartier ‘Into The Wild’ campaign, which I am delighted to be part of, is an extraordinary tribute to master craftsmen ✨✨✨✨

Our creations are being displayed in giant format across the world’s major capitals.
These crafts, which usually remain fairly obscure – with works that never exceed a certain size – are now adorning gigantic walls, building façades and historic monuments currently undergoing restoration.

It is with great emotion that I share one of the sculpted paper panthers I created for Cartier’s new international campaign « Into The Wild ».✨✨✨
The panthers roam the streets, from Paris to New York; whether made of paper or glass, the arts and crafts have taken over the city, celebrating our expertise.

Across the four corners of the Earth, Cartier’s wild animals take centre stage in enchanting fables.✨

Through its encounters, the panther draws us into a world where artists’ works come to life, where the arts and crafts weave a collective adventure.

Whether crafted from paper, straw or glass, the precious tiger, the delicate panther and the galloping zebra together tell a story in which each artisanal realm pays tribute to the sumptuous work of Cartier’s jewellers.

It is an honour and an immense pleasure to have taken part in this magnificent book of fables.

Sculpting this monumental fresco with patience and precision, intended for film, was a demanding endeavour at every turn.
It was with great emotion that I watched the panther of light and the paper tiger come to life under @elsamuse magic touch. Thank you also to @kimkongdotcom, @simongesrel and your whole team. What a thrill it is to see the panther and the tiger, my paper creations and studio companions, come to life, frame by frame.✨

Bathed in light, the panther emerges, majestic, from a bed of precious foliage. Crafted with the tip of a scalpel, her coat of golden petals delicately reflects the sun. Before her, a huge paper tiger with a sparkling gaze contemplates her. Emeralds and diamonds glisten before the beauty.

High and low reliefs, white or black gold, mother-of-pearl and gold dust… the two felines tremble as they face one another. Whilst the tiger’s whiskers quiver with emotion, its incised and openwork paper fur smooths and polishes itself.

I had imagined their forms, sculpted their reliefs… and now they’ve come to life and met in this magical fable created by Elsa and narrated by the magnificent Tilda.

Thank you, dear @elsamuse for this incredible animation of my work. Thank you also to @kimkongdotcom , @simongesrel and your whole team. The slow movement of the brush, the gold leaf fluttering away, a gesture, the hand and craftsmanship.✨

Five artisans working together on a single creation, fables like a marvellous journey, a tiger, a panther and a crocodile brought to life, with scales of paper or glass, and coats of straw or sculpted gold.
It is a wild world, a precious bestiary elevated by the art of bringing the still to life.

A photographed pelt. A composed pelt.
One belongs to the living world; the other is born of the artist’s hand.✨✨✨

Scales, textures, light: the material does not seek to reproduce the animal, but to invent another presence for it. Between reality and representation, which ultimately seems the most alive?

I love the freedom with which these two worlds have been brought together: reality and interpretation, photography and artistic gesture, fur and paper. An unexpected way of extending the work by bringing it into contact with another medium.

Cartier conceived this interplay between the real animal and its reinterpretation.

What amazement, what wonder to see my work take on a whole new dimension.✨

I am left speechless by my creation, displayed on the walls of Paris and on the façades of cities all over the world. An incredible feeling: the panther I created crosses the seas, travelling further than I perhaps ever will…

Alongside the incredible glass artwork by @myriamhubertglass ubert and the photographs by @Nathanrobin_, the panthers respond to one another and merge across continents.
And beyond the images, a common language emerges: that of the imagination, of matter, of creation.

On the one hand, life captured in an image.
On the other, life reinvented through material.✨✨✨

The boundary between photography and sculpted paper becomes blurred. The animal leaves the real world to enter the realm of the imagination. I particularly love this convergence of artistic languages, when photography enters into a dialogue with my work with materials. Two very different forms of expression brought together in a single image, and a new way of looking at animals.

I would like to sincerely thank Cartier for conceiving this encounter between reality and interpretation, photography and materials.
