Hi! In case you are new to my site I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Anne and I am a calligrapher & illustrator and I love mixing up different materials to use in both practices. Here are just a few facts about me…
✨I live in Annapolis, Maryland with my husband, Bill, and my two dogs Mia (the most perfect mutt ever), and Pickles (pictured above❣️) - my funny little Pomsky.
✨I (we)🤣 have one daughter, Elisabeth, who is the love of my life and she lives in West Palm Beach, Florida – a great place to visit, but sure wish she was closer!
✨I would most definitely call myself an introvert (although my daughter says I make best friends with any given cashier)
✨ I’ve ridden horses most of my life
✨ I’m not a big fan of getting my picture taken (but I love to take pictures of everyone else!)
✨I’m an avid gardener and draw inspiration from everything I plant
✨ I absolutely love being outside – kayaking, hiking, walking with the dogs, and most recently PICKLEBALL!

💕 thank you so much for following along with me – this is a wonderful place to share! taken in Annapolis, Maryland by @anne_vallette

What a beautiful month you are! I love how clear and sparkly the air seems and I love the fact that there are still warm days that remind us of the passing summer. Give us another two weeks here in Maryland and the leaves on the trees will be brilliant! What do you look forward to in October?

For an absolutely lovely bride I had the pleasure to work with! A handpainted monogram on the bar menu with spot calligraphy. Her wedding is not until this coming Saturday so I didn’t want to share any other details but for anyone out there who works with brides we all know when we get a perfect one – here’s to you Madi!❤️❤️❤️ by @anne_vallette

October 1st is International Coffee Day! These illustrations were done for a company that printed them on tea towels - so much fun!

And just like that here’s a new vibe for those coastal weddings. I think I love doing place cards because it’s all in the details. So grateful for this wonderful client who pushed me to do something a little different. Send me a DM if you have a project in mind.🐚🐚🐚

Oh snap- it’s September! I don’t have children at home anymore, so I don’t have to prepare for any back to school excitement. And fall doesn’t start till September 22 so I’m still soaking up the last weeks of summer!

Just a little note I include when I hand letter a bride’s wedding envelopes. She is getting married in Maine so a lobster was, well, fitting 🦞🦞🦞

August! How are you already here? I’m still enjoying my garden, (although there are a few more weeds than I’d like), reaping the bounty at our local farmers market, bike rides and kayaking.

Not going to lie – I absolutely love summer! It’s not yet August and I don’t want to hear anything about back to school, sweaters, falling leaves, or hoodies. 🐟💦🦀👙🍉☀️😎😎😎
