Over the last few months we have been working on full-speed, in between preparing our concert in Muziekgebow, class concerts, exams, masterclasses and even competitions!
Laura (Ba3) participated in the International Harp Competition “Felix Godefroid”, and had a great experience!
Bravo Laura for the hard work and bravo to everyone in the class , including our teachers, for all the energy put into these busy weeks!🎶
(Last video is a bonus: multi talented harp students, packing 6 harps in 1 hour is not for the weak💪) by @anneleenschuitemaker

What if you always wanted to become a violinist, but you fall in love with the harp? In this month’s @preludiummagazine our second harpist @anneleenschuitemaker shares her story. ‘As a little girl, I dreamt of playing the violin, on stage in a pretty dress. But when I finally played one, it felt like the instrument rejected me. I felt no connection at all and was very disappointed. Then I heard a different sound in the room. It was coming from a harp. I was blown away. It was love at first listen.’

The first time Anneleen auditioned she didn’t get the job – nobody did. She did not give up, and re-auditioned a year later. ‘I now realise I was way too enthusiastic the first time. The second time I could really show who I am and what I wanted. Fifteen minutes later, I’ll never forget that moment: “You’ve got the job!” I was on top of the world. And I still am, now already in my sixth season.’

🪉More on the wake-up call she had, her role in the orchestra (‘I’m a chameleon’) and her harps via the link in bio!
