A happy landing in a beautiful corner of the world! A local saw this unusually sized painting on my site and reached out to say she thinks it will fit perfectly in her new home. Bingo! “Flying Solo II” hangs by-the-sea in a neighborhood I walk regularly. Nice feeling. Many thanks to my collector for continued support. If anyone else has just the right spot for this shape, there are two more in this series; swipe to see.

Time flies in the making of minis. The structure, straight lines, geometric shapes of barns within organic environments, plus adding color however I like— never gets old.

Excited to join the @the_canopy_program_ through @nyccritclub! Over the next nine months, I’ll work with nine other artists through a mentorship with @georgeboorujy. Looking forward to meeting my cohort and joining virtual critiques, workshops, and guest speakers. The grand finale is a pop-up group exhibition in Chelsea in June 2027. Yahoo, here we go!

“Here for the Craic” feels right at home in my favorite local collector’s home. I can visit! by @annelliotartz

A drawing for upcoming show with @jessicabovert. We’re calling the show RAW, which gave us the liberty to step outside our usual mediums and do something different. Great to dig in with pencils and charcoal and a wee bit of paint. Needs a title…

In 2019 I got an early morning call from my mother. Her voice was deep and unsettled. Before she could say much a calm swept over me. I asked clearly, without panic, “Mother, where are you?” She told me she was at the hospital, one that I’d never heard of about 30 miles away. I learned she had fallen. I hung up and headed for the hospital. I was struck by the sense of calm that took hold. In my youth when I first learned about “fight-or-flight” reponse, I had wondered who I’d be in such a scenario. There’s a third option: calm. That’s where I land. (Mom lived fully after her fall until 101.)

Unresolved issues are a feature of my life right now. In 10 days, I will be hanging new work as part of a two-person show @carmelartassociation with @jessicabovert I’m excited to be showing more drawings than paintings. Much to do still, but in doing the work I feel calm about all else. Here’s one drawing for the show. I’ll have eight others to share over the next few weeks. 18 x 24”, mixed media on paper
