Mama 🤍🕊️ 12.08.1968 – 12.12.2025

It’s been 2 weeks since my mom passed away. We all knew it was coming, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago, and after bad news after bad news, we heard this past July that she wouldn’t get better. And now it feels even more surreal than when she was still here.

Grief is a weird experience so far, one that already started a while ago for me when she was sick, but has now entered a new phase. A much emptier one.

My mom was the strongest, most positive person I’ve ever met, and till the very end she was not scared of death. I’m proud to call her my mom. Her motto was not to judge other people, but to ask questions. Every story has two sides. To approach with kindness. And I hope to carry this piece of her with me 🤍🤍

Since 2016, I’ve been creating travel guides for myself and friends. Now, I’m excited to share them with you, too!

It all started with my first big trip to New Zealand and Australia. That’s where I fell in love with traveling—and I haven’t really stopped since.

The best part of traveling is discovering new places and cultures. For me, part of that fun begins even before the trip: reading blogs, crafting the perfect itinerary, and uncovering hidden gems. Over the years, I’ve gotten pretty good at it—and now I want to share those discoveries with others.

These guides—AnniePlannies, as I like to call them—are flexible itineraries, so you can adapt them to your kind of trip. While travel is often portrayed as expensive or exclusive, I’m here to show you it doesn’t have to be. My goal is to make travel affordable, local, accessible, and—above all—fun.

Just a 4,5h bus ride away from Nairobi lays beautiful and green Arusha✨ where I spent 5 days touring around the Ngorongoro crater, a banana farm, kikuletwa springs & the materuni waterfall in Moshi.

Being here made me realize how far removed we are from nature in the Western world and also what ‘our’ definition of developed is…

This is an ode to friendship!

Three weeks ago already I turned 28! My year as a 27-year old was rough to say the least with my grandad passing away, my mom getting diagnosed with breast cancer and (still) undergoing treatment, going to therapy and getting my ADHD diagnosis, but I feel an intense amount of gratitude to all my amazing friends! 💚 so here’s an ode to the past year: the friends edition! Mentally I’m here!

It’s been my phone background ever since I visited this beautiful place 1,5 years ago. It’s an area 3,5 hours above Mexico City and it’s known for it’s natural hot water. The pools are man-made, carved out of limestone, and are filled with the thermal water. The water is hot because it’s heated by a volcano but no one knows where it’s located. What is also pretty cool is that it’s in a semi-desert kinda landscape and privately owned by locals. It’s basically a natural water park and also really good for your skin! These were all my fun facts 😂 but yeah this place is magical!

Today is the end of leo szn but also marks the end of my stay in Kenya! Never felt so sad to leave a place because honestly Kenyans are the most friendly and open people and the country is beautiful! Also turned 27 here which marks the beginning of saturn return; a new phase! Excited for what is to come and I’ll definitely be back! taken in Kenya by @annemaryyn

Can’t put into words how amazing 4 days in the Masai Mara were so I made a video of the experience! This was the reason why I wanted to go to Kenya in the first place and it was magical. Saw so many animals, the great migration, camped in the wild, encountered a family of hippos next to our camp on foot (very scary), made new friends, still can’t comprehend how big this park is and will cherish it forever✨
