Hello all! We have so many new members! Welcome ! A little about us;
Our events were started in New Orleans in 1988 by The Anne Rice Vampire Lestat fan club. Anne attended many of our events over the years. She also hosted some of them in her own homes. We are the only event of this kind Anne ever gave her blessings to and we are honored to carry on that tradition.
We are not affiliated with any other Halloween / Vampire balls in New Orleans, or any where else. Since 1988, we have designed, hosted, and managed our events. 🖤🦇
Our events this year are being held exclusively at the @derbesmansion !

Here’s my personal guide to all of the best spooky happenings in New Orleans for 2026. We’re celebrating the 50th year of Interview with the Vampire, so expect a lot of Lestat, Louis, and Claudia in the mix!

Every year I get bombarded with the question of what to do in New Orleans Halloween week, so I put together a little guide for the strange and unusual. This is not comprehensive by any means, just my selects. It includes everything the goth girls (and fellas and NBs) could need: music, art, carnivorous plants, cheese, séances, costumes, vampire balls, goth proms, witch brunches, cemeteries, films, shopping, haunted houses, mourning rituals, etc.

Some events have multiple dates, so please check venues for accurate information. GET TICKETS IN ADVANCE. Everything will sell out.

It is the honor of my career to announce that I am DJing the Anne Rice Vampire Ball this year!!! It is the 50th anniversary of Interview with the Vampire and the 38th anniversary of the ball! 🤩

The Anne Rice Vampire Ball is THE ORIGINAL Vampire Ball. This year we are pulling out all of the stops, and have made so many improvements. I'm getting a new DJ board just for the occasion. My perfumes @evehillessences will be in the VIP gift bag and you can find my crest and contact info in the keepsake program! I'll also be coordinating the volunteers, which I have always enjoyed.

For those of you who don't know me, I am EveHill, a New Orleans Goth DJ. Over the Summer, I completed a tour across the country, hitting stops in Portland, Providence, SALEM, Milwaukee, and San Francisco! I also create perfume, produce music and events, manage projects, and I'm a witchy microbiologist. Check out my other events this season, because it's going to be phenomenal.

As a weird, goth teenager growing up lonely in Louisiana, Interview with the Vampire and the Vampire Chronicles changed my life and probably got me to adulthood in some regard. I meet so many people who have had the same experience, whether they be an awkward teen or someone processing their grief. It's a timeless classic, and I'm astounded that I have the opportunity to participate in such an incredible celebration. There is a new, extravagant edition of the book coming out TODAY, and I can't wait to get my claws on a copy. It's got gold embossing, red sprayed edges, as well as a new forward by @lbardugo and an afterward by THEE @christopher.rice.writer. OH ALSO! I visited Lady Anne's tomb for her birthday. After my visit, I became absolutely famished! Only one thing would quell my hunger: @tacobell. Anne Rice was apparently a huge fan of Taco Bell! IMPORTANT COSTUME CONTEST INFORMATION

Today is the day! PRE-REGISTRATION for the Anne Rice Vampire Ball costume contest is now open beginning today until OCTOBER 15th. Registration is free this year and your costume does not need to be fully finished at the time of entry, however space will be limited to only 30 contestants, so don’t delay.

Costume contest participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their costumes on the main stage with a brief intro by our MC, with prizes in three categories -

Best Couple/Group
Best Anne Rice Character(s)
Best in Show (Overall)

Contestants will be notified by email a few days before the ball with instructions on check in and lineup.

🎉 Attention Anne Rice Ball vampire fashionistas and costumiers! As October nears and we grow closer to the night of our beloved ball, we would like to share a few announcements about our costume contest for this year.

In order to ensure that our best dressed vampires at the ball have a positive and streamlined experience, this year, we will be accepting PRE-REGISTRATIONS for the costume contest between OCTOBER 1st - 15th. Registration will be free this year and your costume does not need to be fully finished at the time of entry, however space will be limited to only 30 contestants, so once pre-registration opens don’t delay. Contest participants will be given the opportunity to showcase their costumes on the main stage this year, with prizes in three categories:

- Best Couple/Group
- Best Anne Rice Character
- Best in Show

We will be posting more information on how and where to enter in the coming days, but this serves as your notice to get working on those amazing costumes you have been planning all year!
