I completely choked up this morning leading worship during this line:

My precious Jesus
Oh I’m so thankful
For the day You saved my life
As I remember, my heart grows tender
Tears begin to fill my eyes

Isn’t it wild? Doesn’t it make you wonder?
How something so profound, could be simple?

I got saved at the age of 7, playing outside in the garden, asking God “who are you really?” - I may have been young, but there’s no special Holy Spirit for kids. To give some context, my parents weren’t saved at the time and I think I have been to church about 3 times that I could remember.

I just remembered a warm feeling settling over my body and KNOWING that the God of the Bible is the one true God. That’s how I got saved. Even at such a young age, my life was completely changed. I started speaking to God and being aware of His presence from that day, one year later, at the age of 8, I was praying for my father’s salvation and baptised by the age of 9. No one had to convince me. All by the grace of God, and like God was longing for relationship with Adam and Eve in the garden, God was there and ready for that relationship with little Anneri playing in the garden too. All it took was a desire to know who He really is.

And it’s through the blood of Jesus that we have the freedom to seek and find Him so easily ♥️ 23 years later and I still cry if I think of that day, isn’t it wild?

PS - thank you to @naledimohapi for immediately noticing and jumping in to support vocally as I try to recover 😂 and like @_idwa_ said, “it’s not a performance” - so through I felt a slither of embarrassment for a breaking voice, it’s nothing compared to the JOY of my salvation.
