now that we’re WELL into the middle of the year — lets do a mid year reading check in

• 28 books read
• 10k+ pages read
• 4⭐️ avg rating
• 5hr per book avg reading time
• 1 dnf (guys i NEVER dnf so it’s that serious)

my goal for the rest of the year: read 1 book every week

naturally i will complete my goal of reading 200 books in one year, one year — naturally it will not be this one 🙂‍↕️

my reading has been SLOW this year. i can’t say it’s been bad because i’ve been loving majority of what i’ve read but it’s definitely been an off year for me … i simply haven’t been picking books up as much as other years;
i think i’m partly less persuaded by trends this year than i have been in the past and as i’ve been going through and sorting out my collection of booms i’ve been majorly reassessing my relationship with book-buying - i’m more considerate as to which books i spend money on (physical or not) which definitely slows down the flow of reading
i am and always have been a binge-reader so when i lose the flow of continuously consuming books it definitely gets me in a slump

my favourite reads of this year (in no particular order)

• no matter what @carabastone (girl this is THE ONE this book is it for me THE LOVE in this is UNMATCHED)
• games: a love story @annamariavolkova (sooooo sexy. sooooo sexy WOW)
• warrior princess assassin @brigidkemmerer (this one has been a standout if you couldnt tell)
• the someday garden @heyashposton (i will always love everything you do)
• willing prey @allie.oleander (a fun book abt a kinky arrangement but oh no its haunting me why can’t i stop thinking abt this help its so good??!!)
• anarchy @mariemackaybooks and @olivialewinauthor (NO ONE is doing omegaverse like this IM OBSESSED)

two releases from this year that i still need to get to
• furybound by sable sorenson
• light wielder by rachel schneider
my weird mood with reading definitely stopped me from picking these up straight away — i didn’t want any lingering feelings of a slump to ruin my experience of reading these !!!
pleeeaaassse if you’ve read these help me work up my excitement to get to these 🫣

my most anticipated reads for the rest of the year!
