WE ARE STARTING A FAMILY BUSINESS!
Since Sean and I met each other, we’ve made togetherness, hard work, curiosity, and adventure some of our family’s core values. We’ve decided a vital element to prioritize these values and create the family life we hope for is to work together.

For the next couple days, we’ll share more about how we got here and on Thursday we’ll have the big reveal as to what exactly we’re doing!

Say hello to my engagement ring!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love the radiant cut diamond and the simple cathedral setting, but what I love most is that it takes me back to the moment Sean kneeled down on that beach and asked me to spend forever with him!

Jewelry has a special way of making a moment last forever. It becomes part of the celebration, milestone, anniversary and the heirlooms we pass down.

In starting Augustine, Sean and I wanted to create beautiful, timeless pieces that are worthy to be part of life’s biggest moments and precious memories.

When you look at work life before the industrial revolution, most families worked on farms or as skilled artisans and the work was a family responsibility. Everyone, husband, wife, children, all made contributions to help the family survive and flourish. They spent most of their days working together and the amount of service, hard work, cooperation, coordination, trust and reliance that required strengthened family bonds and helped raise generations that cherished family.

When Sean and I look at the world today, we can’t help but feel like the family is getting deprioritized more each year and generation. We believe that the family is essential to fulfilling God’s purpose for every person in this world and that happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of Jesus Christ.

If you take a moment to distill life down to its most important parts, you’d be left with things like marriage, family, service, and devotion to God, which are really all synonyms in our book – so that’s what we want to prioritize.

We’ve spent the last two years trying to find something we could both be equally excited about – not just one buying into the other’s dream but really finding a common interest and passion. We’re so excited to finally share it with you tomorrow. by @annickagustin

One of our favorite parts of eternal commitment in marriage is the opportunity to dream so wholeheartedly together. Talking for hours about what our future can become.

You have basics like where to live, how many children to have, which holidays to spend with which side of the family, but also deeper and more detailed things like which values do we want to prioritize in our family, what should we spend our careers working on, how do we become great parents and help our children reach their fullest potential, all of it.

Working together as a family, is something we’ve been talking about since before we were married. March 21, 2024, just a few weeks before our wedding, we had the chance to hear my aunt and uncle speak at a small event. They shared how they met, started their first business making leather goods, fell in love with farming while they lived in Brazil, started their own hog farm, and everything else you might know them for. One of the biggest motivations they had was to work together as a family. The sentiment resonated deeply with us and that night we started a conversation that hasn’t stopped since. We want the same thing for our family. Not necessarily to become farmers, but to find our own way of making that dream a reality. The chance to make a living without being separated most of each day.
