Monkey Off My Back or The Cat’s Meow. At The Armory.

It’s difficult to put into words what exactly this trippy (in a very good way) experience was. But, it was great. And, thank you for the playlist. Thinking David Byrne may have started a trend with the sharing of important, significant playlists. Sadly, tonight is the last night. Something about this performance brought me back to a time when theater was ‘a little out there’, opening up sensory perceptions that might be dormant. Needless to say, thinking the playlist will be one of my ‘go-tos’ as it evokes the memory of this unique experience.

Hot Childs in the City, Day trippin’ to The Gov. First time back since ‘85. Fairly impromptu, (fabulous) picnic and stroll. You live so close to a place, but forget to take advantage of it. As Arnold would say, “I’ll be back.” #governorsisland #vintagevw #vintagevolkswagon #volkswagon# nyc #bknyc snaps #anniecatpics taken in Governors Island by @anniecatdesign

Liquor Moon. You got your urban moon. You got your country moon. You got your ‘God I wish I were on the beach, a beach, any beach’ moon. This is one of those moons. The temps, they’re temperate. Actually felt a (maybe) September breeze a little earlier. And yet, according to NPR, Summer 2025 still does not have a ‘roll down your windows, let the sun and the summer chillax roll in’ Song of Summer. I’m not surprised. We’ve been busy. Distracted. We’ve had a heck of a lot of things to wrap our head around: Gaza (Adolph Netanyahu, anyone?!), Tariffs, Epstein, DOJ shenanigans. Who has time for a ‘Song of Summer’ for crying out loud? Yet, I would argue, maybe we need one, now more than ever. And, if I were a songwriter, I might start working on ‘Song of Summer, 2026’. Maybe even 2027’s…be prepared. We have no idea what this life has in store for us. Well, it’s only a liquor moon 🎵 after all. If we’re lucky. by @anniecatdesign

The Geese of LIC. Could this possibly be the same family we saw back in May? If so, they somehow gained another one. Surprised they are still here, I thought they would have flown the coop by now 🤷 #goose #geese #gosling #lic #migratorybirds #longislandcity #anniecatpics #bknycsnaps taken in Long Island City by @anniecatdesign
