[2025] Beyond Reunion: Chinese New Year Is More Than Just Red Packets
In today’s world, Chinese New Year is a special occasion that connects generations—the grandmother shaped by wartime struggles, the mother navigating the economic boom of the ‘80s and ’90s, and the young girl growing up in the digital age. Though they come from seemingly different worlds, their strong familial bond unites them deeply.
When we‘re young, one of the most vivid memories of Chinese New Year is the moment when mother would “safekeep” the newly received red packets. As we grow older, what happens to those red packets no longer matters. What becomes truly precious is the time spent together as a family.
Year after year, the New Year arrives, but as time passes, our roles and perspectives shift. From a girl to a woman, the evolving roles and responsibilities often make us overlook the stories written on our faces by life’s journey.

新年是一个有趣的节日，儿时最深刻的记忆，莫过于妈妈总会“代收”我们刚拿到的红包。长大后，那些红包的去向早已不再重要，反而更珍贵的是一家人团聚的时光。
