POSTS STORIES REELS

There is not a single thing that @authorsamaclean has written that I have not absolutely devoured and loved. Every book just keeps getting better, and I’m so excited for Sunsplitter’s release today. I had the privilege of getting to read an advanced copy in May and it was a phenomenal five star read.

Fi is such a badass, and Antal continues to bring the wet cat vibes (and we wouldn’t have him any other way!). This completes the Voidwalker duology but I certainly hope we get more in this world because it’s so good and there are so many great side characters we could explore more shards with! If you haven’t read Voidwalker, give it a shot. It’s an excellent entry point into monster romance, with phenomenal plot and world building!

It’s a bit late, but I still wanted to share some of my top reads of 2025. There were a lot of months with SO many good reads, and not everything is even reflected here. Every single book on here was a five star read for me and I highly recommend reading them! I have a lot of sequels to look forward to this year.

My favorite for the year: This Inevitable Ruin by @mattdinniman, which really represents the entire Dungeon Crawler Carl series as I love every single book for different reasons. This was the only book/series that I read and then almost immediately started rereading, and takes up so much space in my brain even still.

January: Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
February: Deep End by Ali Hazelwood
March: Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
April: Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage
May: Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry
June: Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
July: Voidwalker by S.A. Maclean
August: This Inevitable Ruin by Matt Dinniman
September: Warrior Princess Assassin by Brigid Kemmerer
October: Secret Nights and Northern Lights by Megan Oliver
November: Sparks Fly by Zakiya N. Jamal
December: King of Ravens by Clare Sager

I didn’t read quite as much this week between after-work events 3 nights and then being out of town over the weekend with friends. I wanted to prioritize in-person connection, although I still managed to sneak in some reading, especially on the drive home!

Have you read any of these? What did you think of them?

I was coming back from vacation this week and only had to work 2 days, which always helps how much I can read! I hope to post these at least somewhat regularly to share some insights into what I’m reading throughout the month with some early thoughts on the books! What’s a book you’re looking forward to reading this week?

I literally woke up from a dream this morning about continuing on with the Rebel Blue Ranch Series, so I took that as my sign to swing by @kissandtaleromancebookshop and pick up the next couple books! Couldn’t resist grabbing the first two in another series after seeing people raving about Hat Trick. Have you read either of these series?

I can’t believe Team “Never Going to Guard You Up, Never Going to Let You Down (from the tower)” won Romantasy Trivia! Couldn’t do it without @bookmarked.byv So thrilled to win a signed copy of Shield of Sparrows! Big thanks to @redtowerbooks and @entangled_publishing for hosting Romantasy trivia, it was a blast!

Can’t wait for my reread of this!

Review for Shield of Sparrows!

This was an easy five star for me! I can tell I'll definitely be thinking about this world for a while. Full text review below.

This was a really fun ride. I had a lot of questions throughout the book and am so glad we got some of the answers. It read pretty quickly (in a good way), and I loved the monsters and the vibes. I wasn't sure if this was going to live up to the hype, but am so glad it did! I can't wait for the next one!

❤️‍🔥Cover Reveal ❤️‍🔥

🩷Q: Have you read the Kingdom of Lies series?

This Viscous Dream is part of the Kingdom of Death Duet, which is a complete standalone series. You don't have to read the Kingdom of Lies series first, but if you have the chance, I highly recommend it as the new duet is a series set in The Kingdom of Lies world. ❤️‍🔥

I'm so keen to read This Viscous Dream! I'm so excited to be on the @staciastarkauthor street team! 😍

I’m so incredibly stoked that I was selected to join Stacia’s street team! The Kingdom of Lies was a 5 star series for me last year, and I can’t wait to learn and share more about the new series she is working on! Have you read any of her books?

Happy Release Week to Onyx Storm! Had a wonderful time going to the midnight release party and then immediately diving back into the world of the Empyrean! I finished the book and loved it - feel free to DM if you want to chat about the book, but please keep any comments spoiler free. Have you read it yet? Are you planning to read it?

Book Review for A Language of Dragons!

- A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson
- Release Date: January 2, 2025
- Potentially first in a series?

We had some struggles with this book, and I sat on this review for a bit to make sure I wasn't just reacting based on how I felt at the end. Might be good as a Babel-lite (although I've not personally read Babel yet). Have you read Babel or A Language of Dragons? What did you think of them?
