Artemis by @annielights_ As seen at @yeticon.official Okay I want to talk a little bit about retouching. Over the last couple of years I've been getting a lot of oh wow I thought your work was AI especially the more elaborate photosets. But even here just a snapshot bumping into my friend. Its real it's organic. (Ish digital haha) But I like the shot took it home retouched a little bit to get what we see here. But I understand there's a lot of mystery behind retouching we're even what that means as it means something different to everybody. I even had a corporate headshot gig we are one of my clients looked at the image immediately after I shot it and was like wow your computer has already applied the background blur filter. And I get it we live in an age where you press a button and you have an end result. And part of me kind of wishes that was true on the level that I like to operate. Save me a huge amount of time. I've used an a ton of programs and I can always tell It's not on the level just yet where I personally like to work but I could just be old and stubborn at the same time 🤣 But yeah an image like this is just old-fashioned retouching using the same technology we've had for the last 15 or 20 years. Frequency separation and a Wacom tablet straight up repaint areas I want to resurface, Cur ves to get the colors and tones where I want them. Painting in dodge and burn curves to get the kind of highlight shadows I want and a few layers craft a bloom effect. Yes it would be fair to recategorize something like this as maybe partially a painting and not 100% of representational photograph but at least there's a human hand behind it. Anyways if you've made it this far let me know what platform I should play Hades 2 on? I've been thinking about getting a switch 2 but maybe a steam deck or just my laptop? by @annielights_
